Urban Botanic

Have you ever wished that you could have a scent created just for you? I know that I have, and I know that it isn't something that I can usually afford. But, when I found out about Urban Botanic I discovered that such a thing is possible!

Urban Botanic was started in 2005, and is now in 27 states. The scents are created either by you or by the consultant, usually at an in-home party, but the products are also available on-line. Their products are grouped in to one of six main scent family (e.g.- Woodsy, Floral, etc.), and you are matched to your scent family after taking a personality quiz.

The personality quiz asks about things such as your punctuality, morals, honesty. You can see my results off to the side. I'm honestly not so hot at thinking of my perfumes in terms of these scent families (Annie over at Blogdorf Goodman is amazing at that), but I do know that lately I've been very drawn to fruity and florals, but I think that most of the scents I own already are woodsy or have strong woodsy components.

Once you've chosen your family, you can purchase a great kit from the family that comes with everything you'll need to get started. In the kit are each of the base perfumes, then unscented products (which you scent) for shower gel, lotion, bubble bath and perfume. The kit has recipes that come with them, but if you're at a party the consultant can also mix them for you (or you can make your own). You can also purchase anything you need (individual perfumes or unscented products) a la carte as well. I would also like to point out that the perfume oils that come with the kit can actually scent a LOT of product, so buying extra lotions, etc. would be a good idea!
