Get the Look: Anne Hathaway at the SAG Awards

Anne Hathaway at the SAG Awards
As usual, Anne Hathaway was stunning at the SAG Awards! I have some of the info on her look at this show.

Her hair was styled by Fekkai stylist Adir Abergel.

1. Begin with wet hair and apply Fekkai COIFF Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel to roots. Create texture at your ends with Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray

2. Using a comb create a deep part to your preferred side

3. Next, dry hair with a diffuser to work with hair’s natural texture. Gently run fingers through hair and sweep it back from the face to create lift at the roots

4. Finish with a light misting of Sheer Hold Hairspray to keep the effortless look in place all evening

Anne Hathaway's nails at the SAG Awards
Anne's nails were done by Tom Bachik, who went a bit edgier than expected and used nail art stickers!

1. He used two coats of L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail in I Will! before applying a few butterfly accents to Anne's middle and ring fingers (left hand) and the ring finger of her right hand.

2. For Anne's toes, Tom added a layer of sparkle to Anne's gold base by using L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail in a limited-edition shade from the Diamonds Collection, Sparklicious.

The Favorite Products of a Beauty Expert: Joshua-Myles Ristaino

1. ECO-friendly Klorane Gentle dry shampoo with oat milk (squeeze bottle) delivers an ultra-fine burst of dry shampoo in just the right amount depending on your squeeze!

2. Oribe Dry Texture Spray is by far the best spray delivering a fine mist to cover lots of hair! It's a hairstylist's dream product.

3. Rene Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing conditioning spray detangles and gives amazing root lift! It's fantastic on highlighted, fine, or dry hair as it leaves no residue to weigh your style down.

4. Rene Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing foam is great on a client who has fine hair but a lot of it, as it has a bit more hold than the spray without product buildup to weigh the hair down.

5. Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Spray is so darned good it gets me day dreaming of white beaches on some deserted island somewhere. It has a great smell, great conditioning qualities and just the right amount of texture without weighing the hair down preventing volume or movement.

6. Fekkai Coif Oceanique is my other favorite wave spray because it’s better for fine or damaged hair.

7. I am obsessed with the Avéne skin care line!! I use it on myself actually, especially after traveling. It is great for sensitive skin. I love the Avéne Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover as part of a cleansing regimen. I also get super moisturized lips with the amazing Avéne Cold Cream Lip Cream, which is great to use during the cold dry months or after too much sun in the summer!

8. On my clients I try not to cover their skin too much with heavy foundation or concealer. I really want the natural skin to show through and provide a natural glow as opposed to an artificial one. I am a big fan of the Jouer Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 because it provides some of the best coverage without looking cakey or heavy! It even comes in a matte formula which is great for my male clients.

Celebrity stylist and makeup artist Joshua-Myles Ristaino not only counts A-List clients like Elizabeth McGovern, Elizabeth Banks, Elizabeth Olsen, and Marc Jacobs as his clients, but his work has also graced the pages of Vanity Fair, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan. Frederic Fekkai for Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2013

Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2013
Doesn't this hair style look like something you'd find on Pinterest? I'm a bit obsessed with Pinterest (you can follow my Pinterest boards). Anyways, there are all sorts of bows created with hair, super sleek up-dos, complicated braids... you get the picture. Anyways, lately I've been drawn to some of the more simple hair styles I see on the site. This looks like it should be on there. Kinda love it.

This sleek and simple look was created by Frederic Fekkai Lead Stylist, Paul Hanlon.

Prep the hair by applying Fekkai Full Blown Styling Whip to wet hair. Blow-dry the hair smooth and flat and create a straight side part. Divide the hair into small sections lightly spraying them with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hair Spray. Once all sections have been sprayed, blow-dry each section again, this time towards of the nape of the neck, where the ponytail will start. Tie an elastic band around all of the hair, creating a low ponytail. Spray the ponytail with Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist to give the hair a clean and shiny surface.

Create a loop with the ponytail by pinning the hair about three inches down from the elastic just below where the hair is tied back. Take the remaining ends of the hair and loop them around the base of the ponytail to create the bow. Spray the whole head with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hair Spray. To complete the look and clean up any fly-aways, run a hot curling iron over the surface of then finish with a final spray of Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist.

Frederic Fekkai Sun Protectant Spray For Hair with Shea Butter

While on vacation, I tend to spend quite a bit of time at the pool. Granted, I'm usually under a hat, but one of my biggest concerns is always my hair. I've said before that I spend a lot of money on my hair, and I need to protect my investment! If exposed to sun for too long, my hair becomes VERY blonde, much more blonde than my carefully (and expensively) placed highlights, and I look like a cheap bottle blonde instead.

So, I use hair sunscreen. My favorite is this FF Spray. It has a fine mist, smells like sunscreen but isn't overwhelming, and doesn't result in sticky hair. I've used this product for a couple of years now, and have managed to still look like I have expensive highlights.

Note that Frederic Fekkai also has a similar product Summer Hair Sun Bandana, which includes a conditioner. I've tried this product as well, and can only recommend it for use at the pool, since the product results in sticky hair that can't be styled.

Remember to reapply your hair sunscreen after swimming since none of these products are water resistant!
