Hello, my name is Christine, and I am a Bobbi Brown Addict. I can not help it, I have a sudden, overwhelming urge to buy. all. the. Bobbi. Brown. I must have it!!
The Telluride collection recently came out (and, yes, I have some of it, I need to edit my pictures to write about it), but the Greige palette is where it's at. OMG. Yes, if you like Bobbi Brown, you need this palette (and The Secret to Standout Eyes, which is a great companion palette. They work very well together).
Just a quick glance at the shadows and you can see why I love this palette so much. It's classic Bobbi Brown. This is a smallish compact, the outside is a faux navy leather, and the inside is very sleek, and it includes a large mirror on the inside. It closes with a nice metallic click, and I don't worry that it would accidentally open when I travel with it. Note, I wouldn't necessarily carry it open in a big tote, but it would be just fine in a makeup bag to carry around every where.
The shadows are swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer, pictures in indirect natural sunlight.
You can see that they are pretty average in pigmentation for Bobbi Brown shadows, which is less than other department store brands like MAC. (Which, I have to say, are sometimes so pigmented that I do think they can be hard to use.)
To get the most out of these shadows, I actually layer 2 shadow primers. I start with a shadow primer base, usually my NYX Eye Shadow Base because it provides coverage and hides any visible blood vessels. Then I pat a light layer of e.l.f. Essential Glitter Primer on to my mobile lid, which is where I want my pigment to be the most... well, pigmented. It does take about 1 extra minute for the 2nd primer, but the results are well worth it! I can then layer on my shadows. The shadow lasts all day, looking perfect the entire time.
Here's a peek at how I looked a few days ago using the palette. This is a very simple look, I have Greystone on my mobile lid, Brown Haze in my crease and Ivory above that on the brow bone. I lined my eyes with Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Truffle and finished with Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara.
You can buy the Bobbi Brown Greige Eye Shadow Palette from Bobbi Brown, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, or Neiman Marcus.

Oh my gosh those colors are GORGEOUS. I think I need to price the Palette for sure ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely neutral palette!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous and the eye palette colors are amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look! I'm going to try the 2 primer method too. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteAre we all looking at the same swatches/pics?
ReplyDeleteThis is a barely there pigmentation and something I'd expect from a back in the day maybelline palette or even BH cosmetics or something low end. This is definitely not a $70 dollars worth palette, IMO.
Having to layer primers? This have got to be one of those made in China holiday palettes?
I'm just a bit surprised at how badly these swatched.
Even on your eyes...all I see are a few shimmer specs.
Thank you for the swatches and review tho...this is a definite skip.
pass for me.. the color selection is pretty but the pigmentation looks horrible.. and the price is ridiculous for the pigment..similar color selection you can get in Essence- all about chocolate palette and it costs about 5 bucks..maybe it does not have the sparkly shadows but still swatches better on the regular nude shadows.. this is ridiculous...
