Angelo David Salon: A Great Place to Be Pampered For the Day

Angelo David Salon in New York City, Review
Hello 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic readers! I am thrilled to share my experience at the Angelo David Salon with you. Located at 48 East 43rd St. between Madison and Vanderbilt, my experience at Angelo David was nothing short of wonderful. I was tended to quickly after my arrival and escorted to each appointment. The ambiance was varied as stylists chatted excitedly above calming music.

Marianna the manicurist meticulously groomed and shaped my nails and cuticles. I chose a "fiery tango" Essie red called "Forever Young" as I am headed to Miami this week- thought it would be fitting ;).

Next, Drew shampooed me with the Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner. As a dancer, my hair is up every day (often in a tight bun) and my hair takes a beating). My naturally frizzy hair and dried ends were tamed via the Moroccan Oil products. Additionally the smell is marvelous with a tropical quality. I highly recommend the Moroccan Oil products and you can select a product based on your hair type.

After my hair was shampooed, stylist Ivan made me feel like a blonde goddess while his magic hands blew my hair out. Ivan first used the Angelo DavidLong & Strong Detangler spray while my hair was wet- amazing for long hair like mine. The detangler spray not only detangles, but also functions as a leave-in conditioner that heals and protects hair from future damage. Ivan then used the Angelo David New Premier Volume Spray that gave my hair a VA VA VOOM quality ;). With a delicious (but not overpowering scent) the product did its job without weighing my hair down. It is enhanced with silk and wheat proteins and made my hair glossy and strong. Additionally, unlike so many other products I've tried, I could not feel the product in my hair.

While a few curlers set in my front pieces, Julie Tussey, celebrity eyebrow stylist, began to conquer my horrid eyebrows. Unfortunately blessed with my loving father's eyebrows- Julie had her work cut out for her. My brows are what I like to call “tee-pee eyebrows,” pointed at the top like two triangles. My eyebrows are also very light with very little lateral growth. Julie first tinted my brows then trimmed and shaped them. She explained the importance of the eyebrow as a frame for the eye, and recommended the Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper and Hair Touch-Up to fill-in and shape brows.

She also encouraged using a clear combing brush (can be found anywhere- even at Walgreens) to put stray hairs in place. Julie sculpted my eyebrows for 30+ minutes and they have never looked better. So long painful threading!

After Julie worked her magic, Ivan finished my blow out and curled my ends. If you're going out on the town, have a big event, or just need an ego boost- Ivan is your man!

Overall, my experience at the Angelo David Salon was excellent. It must be said that the friendly staff matched the great services. All stylists were welcoming, engaging, and unpretentious.
If you are looking for a high-end salon in New York with passionate and talented stylists, Angelo David is for you. A big big thank you to Ann Lawlor and Christine! I am very grateful for such a pampered day!

This review comes from Mallory, the amazing new 15 Minute Beauty NYC girl! She'll be covering events and reviewing spas and salons on occasion. As a student and a dancer she has an insane schedule. She definitely understands the need for a quick and streamlined beauty routine!
