L’Oréal Paris recently conducted a survey of nearly 2,300 men and women about lipstick, and I thought the results were very interesting!
75% of women believe that lipstick improves their confidence
90% of women said that she’s not wearing that sultry-hue for you—it’s for herself! (This is sooo me, by the way. I wear all makeup for me, not for anyone around me.)
60% of men believe that smeared makeup on their face is a telltale sign of a steamy make-out session
30% of men would rather wear lipstick for a day than gain 30lbs

Mmm... actually it isn't a lie. I think this might be a transition that most women make around age 30 or so. I suddenly realized that no one around me gave a crap if I had on lipstick or blush. I went out a few times without any makeup at all (something that happens a lot more now that I'm a new mom) and I found that I am treated just the same at the grocery store. NO ONE around you cares if you have on makeup. Not a single person. I wear it because I like the way I feel more confident and like myself when I wear it. I wear it because I enjoy it. But, for some random person in the elevator at work or the produce section? Not so much.
