I'm a big Disney fan. I did a lot of my training at the children's hospital very close to Disneyland. I've been a season pass holder. I went to Disneyworld for Spring Break in college when others were on the beach getting wasted. You get a bit of the picture. So, when I heard about the new Pixi collaboration with Disney, I was beyond excited!
I have to say that this new collection was even better than I thought it would be! Pixi creator and Target beauty design partner Petra Strand worked closely with Disney character artist John Quinn to create a collection inspired by Tink. They used the Tinker Bell that we all remember from our childhoods, an idealized and timeless beauty that is sure to flatter almost any woman.
The products were created to complement the current Pixi line. I fully admit that I haven't used many Pixi products, and I was really impressed. I definitely need to buy a few more Tinted Brilliance Balms for sure, though there will be a list.
Read on to see the products in this collection with swatches.
Fairy Face Palette $34
If you only buy one product from the PixiGlow collection, I'd make it this palette. Included are 5 eye colours, a 3-colour blush palette, 5 lip creams and some applicators/brushes. I really loved the shadows and I've found the blushes to be very flattering (I use them all blended together rather than separately).
Catching Shadows Crayon $18
This crayon is really great for a fast eye look. I just run it all over my lid up to the crease and then blend a bit with my finger. It lasts almost all day (a good 10-12 hours without issues) and I can use it as a primer as well.
Straight On Till Morning Liner $14
This color is described as a "deep golden green", which I think is pretty accurate. At first glance it just looks dark, but it really does add extra depth and dimension. That little bit of shimmer isn't obnoxious once it applied. Instead, it just seems to draw attention to your eyes. The liner applies very easily, it reminds me of the CoverGirl Vivid Impact liners that I love. It just seems to glide on very easily. You have a little time to smudge it, and then it "sets" and become pretty smudge proof. Pixi says that it is also waterproof, though I haven't tested that.
Magic Tink Tint $16
This product makes me want to go and buy every shade of the Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balms. The consistency is like that of a lip balm, and when you apply it, it initially is clear. (See how invisible that stuff is in the swatch?) But, if you apply it on your lips it will react to your pH and adjust to a perfect Tinker Bell pink! It feels hydrating, tastes good (it's a bit sweet, I can't really be more specific) and lasts for hours. Seriously, every shade.
PixiGlow Nail Colour $8
Fairy Dust $14
This powder does a great job of just catching the light without making you look full of shimmer or glitter. I've found it to be great in my inner eye corner, right under my brow (on the brow bone), down the center of my nose and on my cheek bone. It really will work for all ages, if you need a highlighter this is a good one to check out.
This collection is available at Target and the Pixi website.
