The first step is to apply a primer to the face and eye lids, followed by a foundation (I used a matte liquid) and concealer, where needed. Apply a shimmering mauve cream blush across your cheekbones, then using a large powder brush, set your makeup with a loose or pressed powder.
To contour your cheekbones, sweep an angled brush under the cheekbone from the ear toward the mouth, using a matte powder 2 shades darker than your skin tone (I used a matte eyeshadow, #1). Then apply a powder blush in a warm rose tone from the ear running along the top of the cheekbone to the apples of the cheeks.
Next fill in brows and curl lashes. For eyeshadows, I used the limited edition compact from Flirt! (#2) but Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette has similar colors in golds and browns. For this look I used the colors in the compact as such:
Gold Envy (highlight & inner tear duct)
Golden Lady (crease)
Solid Gold (lid & bottom lash)
Cocoa Luster (outer 2/3 of eye & bottom lash)
After eyeshadow application is complete, line the top lash line with a gel eyeliner (#3). Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes (#4). Then apply individual lashes to the top lash line (#5). I used one short and two medium on each eye and then applied mascara to coat and blend in the false lashes.
The last steps are to line and fill in your lips with a neutral lip liner and apply a matte red lipstick with a lip brush, I used Revlon’s In the Red 007 (#6).
Not feeling the red lips and want a smokey eye instead? To change the look from a dark lip to a shimmering smokey eye, do not apply lip liner and red lipstick. Apply eyeshadows the same as above, but line eyes with kohl black eyeliner on top and bottom, including inner rim. Apply a champagne colored gloss to lips and you are ready to go!
Happy Holidays!!

ReplyDeleteOh wow. Gorgeous! I'm in love with your lippie. It looks so natural yet fierce at the same time. It doesn't look clumpy and dry. Loves it.
