Brandy Gomez-Duplessis Shares Her Donna Karan International Market Week Look, Hint: A Trip to ULTA Will Get You Everything!

Nothing to Disclose

Brandy Gomez-Duplessis Look at Donna Karan International Market Week

During Donna Karan International Market Week, Celeb Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis created many different looks, and when she offered to share the looks, and the products she used, with my readers I jumped at the chance! Just look at the model's makeup.... Yes, super pretty!

Brandy says that the look was inspired by her love for exotic locations like Capri. Look is simple with brown/bronze eyes and flawless skin, natural lips and you can almost feel the breeze coming off of the Mediterranean! The best part is that you can pick up all of the products with a quick trip to ULTA (except for the lip gloss. I can only find that on-line, but it is $1.25. Can't argue with that!)

Model before and after look backstage
Here's a picture you never see for a runway show- before and after! The model is obviously very pretty (I'm in awe of her skin), but Brandy's makeup seemed to just make her look like a more awake version of herself with a bit more emphasis on her eyes. This makeup look would be perfect for a wedding or even just a regular day at work.

simple and elegant wedding makeup straight from the Donna Karan runway
1. L'Oreal Miracle Blur: This lotion is popping up all over the place! I've had a lot of makeup artists tell me they used it, and I can't wait to try it out.

2. Stila Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer: I love that this product has both a foundation and the matching concealer (hidden in the cap)

3. L'Oreal Paris True Match Powder: A light dusting to set the foundation and concealer

Brandy used these three products on the models depending upon their coloring:
4. Stila Custom Color Blush in Self Adjusting Bronze
5. L'Oreal Paris Visible Lift Color Lift Blush in #705 Nude Lift
6. Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral

4. L'Oreal Paris Voluminious Million Lash Excess

5. Nicka K Super Lip Shimmer in #4

Here you can get a little bit better look at the eye look. It's very soft and glowy.

Doesn't she look like a bride?

  3. Hi Christine. If you don't have a problem with silicones, you will probably like the Miracle Blur. I started using it because I have lupus tumidus and look for any and all ways I can to incorporate SPF into my products. I tend to like silicone based primers because I have large pores and they work best for me for filling in the pores. I will tell you that as far as the blurring effect, I don't really see it. I am 56 yrs old and the Miracle Blur works no better, or worse, than any of the other silicone based primers I use. I know you are considerably younger so it may be more effective for you in that regard. Be warned, it is a little tricky to work with. It took me a few tries to figure out the right amount because it kept pilling on me. Turns out I was using a little too much and I wasn't patting it on, but trying to smooth it over my face like I do with my Tarte, etc. It doesn't apply quite the same but it's easy to figure out after one or two tries. Just a few little tips and "real person" experiences for you :)

  4. Thanks for the tips Deb! I tried it yesterday (wow, isn't that consistency a bit thick and strange?) and I think I used a bit too much and I smeared it on. I was afraid to try it today! I'm going to try less and do the patting thing. I have some bigger pores near my nose that I like to hide if I can, but I'm convinced it will be any better than any other primer. I'll update in a post!

  6. @Deb & @Christine I am actually obsessed with Miracle Blur. At first I was like another primer but after trying it...in luv! I have very oily skin, large pores, uneven skin, plus mature skin. I use either my beauty blender damp, or a foundation brush. I apply it after I wash my face skipping moisturizer. You only need just a little, then I pat in on like I do my foundation. No swiping /smearing. I do find my skin look better due to the compliments I receive. On pics I find I don't need a filter. That's where the blur effect work when taking pictures. But it smooth out wrinkles, pores and make my uneven skin look flawless. Give it another try :)
