Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream Review

Vaseline recently sent me their Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream to try out. It came packaged with other jellies in a cute but somehow eye opening box. Who knew jalapeƱo jam was a thing?

Regardless of my broadening horizons when it comes to super spicy condiments, I was really excited to try out this moisturizer! According to Vaseline, it is perfect for those with "severely dry skin" and especially eczema (it has a National Eczema Association seal of approval) as it moisturizes skin by 250% for 18 hours. The formula is also unscented, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, and includes Vitamin E.

Can you imagine how excited I was when I slipped this tub into my work bag? There are 3 really good reasons that I immediately brought this tub to work.

The first is hand foam. At work, we have to wash or foam our hands before and after every patient. Yes, even when you're walking directly from one patient to the next. It's to help prevent the spread of infection, and it really does work. It also prevents me from getting sick, so you can bet that I use the foam! A lot of it.

The second reason is soap. I can only leave that foam on for so long, or take so many layers of it (after about 10 my hands just feel greasy and gross), so I need to wash my hands frequently. The soap we use in the hospital is not gentle. It's meant to help prevent infection.

Both of those reasons really contribute to flare ups of the third reason that I was excited about this tub: I have eczema. Using the foam and soap so much, especially in the cold, dry winter, is a set up for a major eczema flare. When this happens on my hand, it looks horrible, hurts and itches. I hate when it flares up, mostly because I am afraid of what my patients and their families will think.

I've found that the best way to prevent the flares is to keep my skin super hydrated! I slather on thick lotion after each hand washing. The more hydrating the better!

The Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream is interesting. It is very rich and smooth, it's a cream that is a bit more... bouncy? It sticks together a bit almost, but it isn't sticky on my hands. I love that it is unscented, that makes it much better for using in my hospital. It sinks into my skin quickly and helps make them feel very soft, but there's no residue to feel sticky.

I've been obsessively using the Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Moisture Jelly Cream while at work for the last few weeks, and I have definitely noticed a difference! I've also managed to go through an entire 7.1 ounce tub. I'm repurchasing for sure, though this time I'll be investing in multiple tubes since that's easier to carry around in my pocket.
