Laura Mercier Masterclass Colour Essentials Review

While you aren't likely to find the Laura Mercier Masterclass Colour Essentials Palette in your stocking (let's face it, this is a pretty big stocking and the box doesn't really fit in there), this is definitely a gift that any beauty girl would love to get this holiday season!

Every year, I love the look of the Laura Mercier palettes. There's always at least 1 really big one that I yearn for, though it usually looks a bit too warm toned for my skin. This year, the images I saw of this palette online were very different than the actual palette. It looks much darker and warmer in the pictures on sites like Sephora. In person, the palette is lighter and more neutral. Even I, with my very cool toned skin, can obsess over the palette!

Inside this palette you'll find a whopping 12 eye shadows, 3 blushes, 2 cake eye liners, a pencil liner, two double sided brushes and a partridge in a pear tree. (Ok, maybe not, but that's a lot of stuff!)

The colors are all nicely pigmented, though the lightest ones all blend in to my skin pretty well. In person, they do have different sheens, I just couldn't capture that in a picture. They are not powdery, they almost feel a little creamy when I put my brush into them. They blend easily and last all day long.

I haven't had great weather to take pictures of a look with this palette yet (hopefully soon! Watch Instagram for pics), but I've been wearing a lot of the lighter colors all over my lid, usually with Topaz in the crease, and one of the darker colors blended with the Kohl pencil at the lash line. My favorite combination so far is Stellar all over my lid up on to the brow bone, Topaz in the crease and Etoile on my mobile lid. I then blend, blend blend and apply the Jet Black Kohl Liner in to my lash line, blending it with a smudge brush dipped into Minx. Lots of mascara finishes the look.

Since I got it I haven't stopped using this palette. It's definitely one of my favorites. If you haven't splurged on yourself yet this holiday season, this is a great palette to use year round!
