Fresh and Pretty Wedding Look: Le Metier de Beaute at Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014

Oscar de la Renta Bridal Spring 2014 Makeup Look
Just look at that model. Wow. The Le Métier de Beauté team (led by Director of Makeup, Mikey Castillo) really did an amazing job at the Oscar de la Renta Bridal Spring 2014 show this week! I absolutely had to share! The look was inspired by someone in "the bloom of her beauty," in the vein of Grace Kelly. The makeup is fresh and pretty, but really allowed each model to just shine. Absolute perfection.

The skin was prepped with Replenishing Daily Solution, which is a lightweight and very hydrating lotion. This was followed by Peau Vierge Tinted Luminizer, which offers a little coverage for dewy skin and a subtle glow. Classic Flawless Finish Concealer was applied only as needed for imperfections.

Lower Cost Options:
You'll need lightweight and nearly naked coverage with a little glow. Prep skin with First Aid Beauty Dual Repair Face Cream for lightweight hydration. Then apply Make Up For Ever HD Foundation with a very small amount of Make Up For Ever Uplight mixed in to provide a little glow. Apply sparingly as needed for a little coverage, and if necessary, use Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer.

How to get pretty wedding makeup
To create a pink-gold look to the eye, Mikey used some unexpected products. First, he used Dualistic Eye Pencil in Champagne all over the lid. Next, True Colour Shadow in Chameleon and then Rose Champagne were layered over one another. The result is a pretty rosy pink with gold shimmer.

The eyes were lined with Noir Precision Liquid Liner. “The important thing to remember is that the liner must be razor-fine. It must be tight and discreetly placed straight into the lash-line,” says Mikey. Finish with a light coat of Noir Anamorphic Lash Mascara over the top lashes.

Finally, the eyes were paired with defined brows. “The key is for brows to be perfectly defined, but still look soft,” says Mikey. Brow Bound Eyebrow Pencil in Natural Blonde was used lightly to achieve the look.

Lower Cost Options:
To replace the Champagne eye pencil, MAC's Paint Pot in Soft Ochre looks very close and also does a great job of prepping the lid for shadow. And while Bobbi Brown Pink Pearl is a good substitute for Rose Champagne (see the comparision swatches over at The Beauty Look Book), there really isn't a close dupe for Chameleon (see the swatch of Chameleon at Temptalia).

My current favorite Brow Pencil is IT Cosmetics Brow Power, and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner is my favorite liquid liner pen. You can also use your favorite black mascara.

DIY Oscar de la Renta Runway
To complete the look, Mikey applied Crème Fresh Tints in Coral Nymph high on the apple of the cheek for a youthful pink flush. He then layered on Sweet Crème Lip Crème Lip Gloss for a sheer, nude-pink pout.

Lower Cost Options:
Coral Nymph is a very pretty peachy-pink color (take a closer look over at Pink Sith) and Cafe Makeup). It is probably best swapped out for Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera, though it won't be an exact match. I would pick an alternative pink gloss that looks good with your skin tone.

I really love this look! While I provided some lower cost alternatives above, there are some items that can't really be swapped out from other (lower cost) brands. Le Metier did create a Beauty Vault Pairing with all of the color items you need to pull off the look on your own! For a limited time if you use the code Oscar you'll get a free concealer as well!
