I don't attending Fashion Week. I don't really have time to spend a week in New York attending shows (I'd rather be home with my two little girls and husband), but I still pay (some) attention to the shows. It's hard not to, PR Reps send me a ton of info about the looks on the runway. I get many emails detailing who did the makeup, which products they used in the hair and which polish was on the models' nails.
Just a few days ago Carolina Herrera's show took place, and I was really inspired by the pink lippies worn by the models! The pink is light and a little translucent, with some shimmer and shine. It's a look that paired nicely with the glowy skin that the models also sported, a very pretty look that works for all women, regardless of your skin tone.
To get this look, I actually layered a few different lip products from Burt's Bees. The reason to this really is to take advantage of the different levels of pigmentation, shimmer and shine.
I used these products:
Lip Crayon in Carolina Coast: I started with this color for the light to midtone pink shade. It has decent coverage and I've found that a good base of color like this when I'm layering prevents me from looking washed out.
Lip Shimmer in Guava: Lip Shimmer also has pretty high pigmentation coverage, though I just applied a very light layer. I wanted the shimmer! Grapefruit and Champagne also would have been good options.
Lip Gloss in Ocean Sunrise: I applied a little gloss in the center of my lower and upper lips last. It added some nice shine, and applying mostly in the center of my lips has a little plumping effect for my thin lips.
I love how the pink looks on me! It definitely is pretty for spring, but also perfect for the transition to fall. It's just... so pretty!

Very pretty! I've noticed pink is a color that is popping up for fall this year. Kinda like that!
