Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate Review

I'm a big fan of everything Kiehl's. Their Ultra Facial Moisturizer was one of my first big beauty splurges, and I swear is the product that finally cleared up my acne, back when I was in college. I have hoards of Kiehl's products stashed in my bathroom, and I refuse to travel without their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I only need a few drops on my face at night, and it turns my travel weary, dry and lackluster skin into healthy, glowy skin. It completely reverses the effects of a flight, something that takes a few days with other moisturizers.

When I learned of their new Daily Reviving Concentrate, I had to try it! It promised to be the lighter weight cousin of Midnight Recovery Concentrate, with a few other skin loving benefits rolled in, such as anti-oxidants.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate Review

This product is full of hydrating ingredients that won't make your skin feel overwhelmed with product. That first ingredient, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, is a mixed fat that is known to be emollient and to sink quickly into the skin. You'll also find quite a few anti-oxidants such as Ginger Root Essential Oil, and Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

This is an oil, but it is a lighter weight oil than their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It doesn't feel greasy, and it has a very fresh citrus scent. I only need a few drops on my face, then I let it absorb. It does take about 4-5 minutes to completely absorb (which is a great time to go do your hair or something), and then I can apply anything I want over it. Because it's still pretty warm out I don't really need much over it, so I've just been doing primer and then foundation. During the winter I think this would be great under BB Cream, just a little extra moisture.

The main thing about this product is that while it would be good long term (preventing oxidant damage is great to prevent aging), it's also wonderful for those mornings that you just don't look good. Whether you were up a bit too late, are feeling a little under the weather... you get the idea! If I look a bit blah at night I use a few drops of Midnight Recovery with my normal nightly skincare routine. But, I can't do that in the morning. Midnight Recovery is a bit too oily and too hydrating for my skin under makeup. Now I can just grab Daily Reviving Concentrate instead, and get the same results! My skin is more glowy, better hydrated and looks better with my makeup after using Daily Reviving Concentrate. I know I'll be using it more frequently as the weather gets colder too.

I think this is another must have Kiehl's product for me!

  1. I'm so glad I've found your blog! Just recently I was thinking that I'd like to buy a face oil/serum for colder months but didn't know what to choose. This concentrate sounds perfect to me, as you say it is not too oily and I also like the ingredients list. Kiehl's goes right away to my wishlist! Thanks for your review! :)

    1. I'm not oily, but combination. I can use this during the winter when my skin is drier, but it's too much for me during the summer. Hope that helps!
