There's some excitement around my home the last few weeks. Why? Because the weather is finally consistently warm and sunny! While we didn't have a bad winter this year in Michigan, it has felt like the process of really warming up and keeping away the overcast gloom has taken a bit longer than usual. I've been sharing a few of my product picks for the spring time, but it's time to share some great picks for the summer!
This summer will have a lot more outdoor time for my family than ever before, and a lot of that will be spent swimming. While pool time as a mom of two little girls is pretty different than pool time of about 6 years ago, I do still like to look a little cute! I have some product picks to help me look my best and recover from my time in the sun.
1. A Girl's Gotta Spa Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub
Everyone wants soft, pretty skin. And a scrub is a great way to achieve that. This scrub has just the right balance of salt and oil, it isn't sharp, and definitely gets my skin glowy. But, the best part is the smell! I'm a sucker for anything citrus, and this one is amazing!
2. OPI Nail Color Mad for Madness Sake
I like to have a bright pedicure color during the summer, and this bright pink is pretty much my definition of the perfect pedicure color. With a good base coat and top coat, an OPI pedicure will look perfect on me for a week or two.
3. Aveeno Baby Natural Protection Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 50
I'm sunscreen obsessed, and it is starting to rub off on my 5 year old. She'll actually ask for sunscreen when she goes outside! However, she is picky about what she'll wear. This Aveeno is her favorite, mostly because the cap is purple. I love that she'll let me apply it all over, and that it has a high spf with full UV spectrum coverage!
4. Aveeno Pure Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner
Since I'll be in the pool all summer, I'll be in serious need of a gentle shampoo and conditioner duo to remove all of the chlorine from my hair, without striping it of much needed moisture. I love that this duo has a nice lather, gets all of the dirt, styling products and chlorine out without drying out my hair, and is even silicone free! My hair is soft and shiny afterwards. This will be a go-to product this summer for sure!
5. Too Faced Better than Sex Waterproof Mascara
What's swimming without a good waterproof mascara? True, I do usually swim without any makeup, but if I wear anything it's mascara. This one seems to stay put without budging so far (I'll update in a few weeks after lots of swimming trials), but it's still easy to remove at night.
6. IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lipstick Stain in Je Ne Sais Quoi
I always needs to have something on my lips, even just a plain balm to hold in moisture. I've been reaching for this lipstain a lot lately. It goes on clear but adjusts to just the right dark pink! It feels very hydrating on my lips, which is just what I need when running around.
7. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask
After being out in the sun all day, I do get some skin irritation despite my sunscreen. I've found that a soothing face mask feels amazing and definitely helps with any increase in redness from my rosacea. This one also happens to smell like amazing oatmeal cookies. Yum!
