I'm a hair product junkie. You name it, I want to try it. I have high end, luxury, salon only, and drugstore hair products stashed all over my bathroom! I'm constantly trying new products, new ways to style my hair, I can't do the same thing more than 1-2 times.
All of this (and a bunch of sponsored posts, truthfully), mean that I've tried a lot of drugstore hair products. Today for Makeup Wars we're showcasing our favorites, and I have to admit, my list is rather... long. And difficult to shorten. I just went through my bathroom and the "hair" bin in my office and pulled out my favorites that were from the drugstore! I couldn't not share some of them (and really, these are the ones I really like, I left plenty of stuff in the bin!) Oh well, I'm sharing it all!
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioning Treatment
Buy at Target, or Amazon
I've written about this product for years. I talk about it with friends. I don't even know how many bottles I've bought over the years, and since it's only $3, this is something that is always in my shower. I love that I don't really need, to plan ahead to use this product. If my hair feels a little lackluster, I just swap this out for my regular conditioner.
There are different 3 Minute Miracles, so you can get the treatment you need for your hair. Moist, Shine and Strong are the versions I use most often, here's a recent post about Aussie 3 Minute Miracle in Strong.

TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Flexible Finish Hair Spray

All of the Beauty-Full products were featured in my easy volumized blow out tutorial. I love all of them, and the only reason that cream isn't shown here as well is because I'm currently out.
Yes, this really is conditioning and then shampooing. The result is hair that is soft and bouncy, not at all weighed down! I love that it comes in HUGE bottles too, such a deal! The mousse has some hold and doesn't feel sticky, and the hair spray is flexible hold that doesn't feel sticky and is touchable.

The final product is a great heat protectant. It smooths my hair, adds some shine, and is super lightweight.

This duo is meant for dry, damaged hair and that definitely describes the issues that I have been having with my hair recently! It claims to work over a few weeks to help "bring your hair back to life", but I do think just a few uses and my hair was looking better. The first use actually did a great job of just smoothing frizz and dryness but without weighing down my hair. And it smells great.
Biorenew White Grapefruit & Mosa Mint Dry Shampoo
Get it at Amazon
I just got this dry shampoo, and I'm obsessed! Expect a full post on just this dry shampoo soon! It does a great job of soaking up oils, it does add a lot of volume, and it doesn't look powdery at all on my hair. But the best part really is the smell! Hands down, this is the best dry shampoo ever. Ever. I have no idea what Mosa Mint is, but to me this dry shampoo has some peach scent, more like a sophisticated white peach. I love that!

You can read more about this duo in my post here, but this duo does a good job of smoothing and not weighing down your hair.

So, technically this is a spray gel, but not really. It offers a bit of hold, makes my hair shiny, and helps my hair stay more voluminous.
Clairol Root Touch Up
Buy it at Walmart, Amazon, or ULTA
I'm not a home hair color girl. Nope. I want someone else to do that for me. But my hair grows really fast, and if it's been more than 3-4 weeks since I had my color done, I have some roots (I only have a few greys, but since my hair is a strange light brown I color it darker). If I have a hard time fitting in a trip to the salon, or I have a special event, I use one of these kits. I was really nervous the first time I used the kit, but it's super easy, and there's just enough color for me to go all along my hair line and do most of the crown on my head. I leave it in 10 minutes, then shampoo it out in the shower. And it really does match my professional color! You can read my full Root Touch Up review here.

Some of these products were featured previously as the result of sponsored posts. I honestly can't remember which ones. But, I know some were. I just went through my bathroom and the "hair" bin in my office and pulled out my favorites that were from the drugstore!
What a fantastic collection of drugstore haircare products! I have no used the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle in YEARS! I love that stuff!
ReplyDeleteOoo! I need to pick up and try those Herbal Essences products.
ReplyDeleteI hear great things about the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, I need to try it!
ReplyDeleteI really like that the Tresemme Volume shampoo doesn't dry my hair out. I bought more expensive Biolage volume shampoo and my hair felt like straw.
