Intensive Treatment in Under 5 Minutes: Kerastase Fusio-Dose Review

I Bought It, Affiliate Link

Kerastase Fusio Dose Review

I've been pretty open with my hair struggles. I have thick, but fine hair. And it's pretty straight, and an in between brown that's kind of blah on it's own. So, I mess with it, a lot! My hair can take a lot of abuse, but eventually even my hair can't take it any more. There was that time a few years ago that I fried my hair, and too much heat styling (aka- obsession with my BeachWaver) resulted in hair that felt like a Brillo Pad. More recently, I've colored, bleached, permed and heat styled my way into damaged hair. I've been using deep conditioners, hair treatments like Olaplex, and avoiding heat styling. But still, my hair is breaking off and split ends are multiplying!

I recently went to my salon for a root touch up and trim (I've been going for more frequent trims with the damage), and my stylist was surprised to see how dry my hair had gotten over the last few weeks! She decided that we would "go for the big guns" and do a deep treatment.

The Best Drugstore Hair Products

The Best Drugstore Hair Products

I'm a hair product junkie. You name it, I want to try it. I have high end, luxury, salon only, and drugstore hair products stashed all over my bathroom! I'm constantly trying new products, new ways to style my hair, I can't do the same thing more than 1-2 times.

All of this (and a bunch of sponsored posts, truthfully), mean that I've tried a lot of drugstore hair products. Today for Makeup Wars we're showcasing our favorites, and I have to admit, my list is rather... long. And difficult to shorten. I just went through my bathroom and the "hair" bin in my office and pulled out my favorites that were from the drugstore! I couldn't not share some of them (and really, these are the ones I really like, I left plenty of stuff in the bin!) Oh well, I'm sharing it all!

The Sleep Styler Review: The Best No Heat Curls

Product Sent for Review

the best no heat curls

We always want what we don't already have. And for me, that's always been curly hair. Growing up my hair was stick straight, and while I've gotten a little wavier as I've gotten older, I definitely don't have real curls or waves! So, I'm forever trying out new ways to get the hair that I want. Especially any way to do it that involves less time/effort on my part, lasts for as long as possible, and I want pretty curls that are big and loose, and look like I've spent a lot of time on my hair.

Today, I'm going to share the newest way I've found to get those curls. It doesn't require heat even (amazing!), I can do it at night and wake up to great hair. I'm so excited about this set of curlers, I want to tell everyone! Go ahead and order one of your own, then come back and I'll tell you more about what you just spent money on.

Products for the best summer hair

Lately, I've been very focused on trying new and different things with my hair. I've been using new products, trying to style it different ways (ok, lets be honest, in different ways to have long curls, those are my favorite), and breaking out of my usual mold by trying out balayage highlights (which look best with curled hair). In all of my experimenting, I've yet to share many of my recent favorites with you!

Luckily, for Top 10 Tuesday today, some of my favorite beauty bloggers and I are sharing our favorite hair products. My recent favorites (plus a few that I tend to keep back ups of), easily fall under the category of "if you want amazing summer hair, try these".

11 Great Anti-Frizz Hair Products via 15MinuteBeauty.com

1. Ouidad Climate Control Frizz & Flyaway Fighter Taming Shine Spray: This spray is super lightweight and holds up even under high humidity.

2. AG Hair Smooth Frizzproof Anti-Humidity Spray (at ULTA): One quick spray and your hair is smooth and shiny. It's almost impossible to over use this product.

3. AG Hair Smoothing Balm: This is a creamy balm, and a little goes a long way! It is very lightweight and you can use it on wet or dry hair.

4. Bumble and Bumble Defrizz: You only need a few drops, and you can use it at any point in styling. It also does a great job of taming fly aways!

5. Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum: Also really lightweight, it adds a ton of shine and is a hair stylist favorite.

6. L'Oreal Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum: This is pretty lightweight and also helps protect against heat damage. If you're at the drugstore, reach for this over the Frizz Ease.

7. Mark Hill MiracOILicious Argan Oil: This oil is great on wet hair, but use a lighter hand if you're applying it to dry hair.

8. Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine: Another great oil, this one only needs 2 or 3 drops, even for my super thick hair. A bottle is likely a lifetime supply.

9. Living Proof Prime Style Extender: When used on wet hair, this is meant to "prime" your hair for later products, it tames frizz and smooths and helps your hair style last much longer despite humidity.

10. Avon Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield Anti-Frizz Treatment: This is the best I've found for super high humidity, just a small amount on wet hair.

11. L'Oreal EverStyle Alcohol-Free Smooth & Shine Creme: This cream also helps tame curls when you're blowing out your hair.

15 New Hair Products That Stylists Are Excited About!

I'm definitely a product junkie, and get really excited about new products. But what are the pros get excited about? Do they get just as excited about the same things? Today I thought I'd find out which new products professional hairstylists are excited about trying out.

Morgan Willhite, Creative Director at Ouidad
1. Ouidad Superfruit Renewal Clarifying Cream Shampoo
"Ouidad has launched a new clarifying shampoo "Superfruit" which is a hydrating moisturizing clarifier. Superfruit is great for summer with the need to remove the buildup of chlorine from pools and salts from ocean which both can be drying on your locks.
Also when looking to do a conditioning treatment, start process with a cleaning, hydrated state.... First use Ouidad’s Superfruit to remove unwanted buildup to insure the best overall results when conditioning."

Regina Ventimiglia
2. RED by Kiss Handle-Less Hair Dryer
"I'm in love with my new RED by Kiss Handle-Less Hair Dryer. It's Ceramic and Tourmaline, Super Fast and Incredibly Light Weight. In the past, I've only purchased "Premium" Dryers and honestly ordered this only for my gym bag but it's now my go to!"

3. Metallic Hair-Tie Cuffs
The "hair wrapped" ponytail has been an easy summer favorite for a few seasons now but I'm liking the accessories for ponytail trends. I've picked up Leather Wraps and Metallic Hair-Tie Cuffs in Silver and Gold. Just make sure that you keep your look balanced and aim for polished...not cheesy!

Sean Henry is a stylist at Salon Evol in Stroudsburg, PA
4. Davines Oi All in One Milk
"Davines Oi All in One Milk has blown of my retail shelves and by far the best product I have ever held in my hand in almost 19 years. For the first time ever I can sell a product that works on many hair types, detangles, adds shine, gives body, protects the hair, and controls frizz. It has Provitamin B5 for its moisturizing action and Roucou oil that prevents the hair from aging and isa strong antioxidant. Is great to finally sell a client on product that does all, then to "load them up" with many different products that just drive up the final bill at the front desk."

Sherri Jessee is a hairstylist and makeup artist who owns Sherri’s Hair Salon, in Bristol, Virginia. She also writes for Latest-Hairstyles.com
5. Sam Villa Textur Iron
"The Sam Villa Textur Iron creates a micro crimp in the hair that literally doubles the thickness of the hair. Take small sections and press lightly to "beef up" the texture with only a small indication of "crimping." This can serve as a fabulous base for gorgeous up-dos."

6. Enzo Milano Estratto 3 Crimping Iron
"The Enzo Milano Estratto 3 Crimping Iron with the square plates creates texture that looks exactly like naturally super curly hair. It is a wonderful way to give someone with poker-straight hair the beautiful tight curls they've always dreamed of."

Bill Murphy is the founder of Recitals Hair Care
7. Pantene Pro-V Split Fix Instant Split End Repair Creme
"Pantene Pro V Split Fix is great for binding split ends and eliminates them over time."

8. Recitals Melody Moisture Miracle Crème
"Recitals Melody Moisture Miracle Crème is a fantastic multi-purpose product. It’s a wonderfully blended formula of natural and organic ingredients that is lightweight, acts as a leave-in conditioner, styling product that moisturizes while preserving hair color, preventing frizz and adding hold and shine."

9. Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray
"Oribe Apres Beach shine spray is a great product for pliability and shine."

Mika Fowler is a celebrity hairstylist at the Kim Vo Salon in Beverly Hills
10. Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax 02
"Joico's Texture Boost is a dry spray wax that allows for the best product when it comes to creating the tousled beachy waves in the summer."

Andrea Dion Jacobs is a stylist at Orchid Salon in Wailea, HI
11. Croc Silicone Brushes
"The new happiness in my kit right now are my set of Croc brushes. Not only are they ceramic and tourmaline infuse barrel and heat resistant, the silicone strips in the brush barrel provide the perfect grip. Making styling brush curls, that are smooth and frizz free easy. The handles are long, but makes for a well balanced brush."

12. Brazilian Blow Out Split End Treatment
"If you have the kind of hair that never seems to grow or fine hair that splits easily. The treatment fills in and mends split ends protecting hair for 4 weeks. It is perfect for sealing a fresh hair cut or a great way to get extra mileage out of a cut that is a few weeks old. I found it does not weigh down finer hair nor does it straighten curls. It is an added 10 minutes to a blow dry service with no downtime, shampoo, swim, work out that day."

Julianne Bryce is a senior stylist at George the Salon in Chicago
13. Carrot Oil
"Carrot oil sounds like it's going to be the next new thing. Pick some up at your local whole foods. It is rich in carotene and antioxidants and can aid in hair growth."

15. eSalon Color Kiss

Also we've launched our Color Kiss Temporary Root Touch Up, which helps disguise roots quickly between color applications. Color Kiss is portable so can be carried in a purse or pocket."

Dove's Advance Hair Series at Walgreens

Sponsored Post

Totally gratuitous, but I was asked to share the new Dove's Advance Hair Series with you (which is available at Walgreen's). And I fully admit that the reason why I said yes is in this video:

Seriously? I love that they went up against MoroccanOil, which is obviously much more expensive and available mostly in salons. I think at the worst you could say that the Dove side looks exactly the same as the MoroccanOil side, but I think it actually look a bit shinier and fuller.

So yes, this is going on my shopping list. The collection includes other products that will hydrate without weighing down your hair. But I really want to try that Pure Care Dry Oil.

Instant Volume: Klorane with Flax Fiber Shampoo and Leave-In Spray Review

Product Sent for Review

Klorane Shampoo with Flax Fiber and Leave-In Spray with Flax Fiber Review

This spring I'm all about volume. I want more volume in my hair, I swear that it will make growing out my long bob easier! But, I don't really want to work to get that volume. Use my teasing comb? No. I refuse! I'd rather just use a volumizing styling product, especially if it gives me volume that lasts all day without any effort.

Klorane has just come out with 2 new products that promise to give me that easy volume (and yes, they do deliver!)

What's different about the Flax Fiber products is, well, flax fiber. The flax for these products is grown on an organic farm in the south of France, and then extracted by Klorane. The flax forms a lightweight film around each hair to provide extra support and add volume. The flax is found in both the shampoo and a companion leave-in spray. I get some volume from the shampoo alone, but if I want a bit more volume then I'll just spray the Leave-In on to the areas I want a bit more volume (mostly the roots on the crown of my head). I use it on my hair when it is wet and then just dry and style as usual.

The Leave-In also has a mineral clay in it to absorb any extra oil in your hair without weighing it down. This is great if you have oily hair, which isn't usually an issue for me but I'm interested to see if that helps me at all this summer.

So, do I get more volume with this duo? Yes. It isn't over the top volume, but it is definitely good volume that lasts all day. I love that to get it I don't need to do anything other than reach for a different shampoo in the shower, and I can add in a few spritzes of the leave-in if I want a little extra at my crown.

Worth the Splurge: Sam Villa Blow Dryer

Product Sent for Review
Sam Villa Blow Dryer Review

Recently, I was on the market for a new blow dryer. My concentrator nozzle had broken and I couldn't find another to fit on my Hana Pro Blow Dryer, and I admit that I was pretty stubborn about it. I tried using it for months without a concentrator, even though it took longer and my hair didn't look quite as nice. But, I really like my Hana and I wasn't quite ready to give it up. I'm usually one of those girls that won't spend more than $40 on a dryer, and I was spoiled by more more expensive dyer.

Then, one day, this Sam Villa dryer showed up on my doorstep. I was pretty amazed and a bit nervous. This was pretty expensive... would I have bought this on my own? No, probably not. Even on sale (it retails for about $200 but is sometimes $40 off), that's about 4x my typical blow dryer budget. I was a bit afraid to touch it! What if I broke it?

Sam Villa Blow Dryer Review

This is a super sturdy dryer, it feels substantial and the cord is very heavy duty. It's a bit smaller than other dryers that I've used, and somehow it is incredibly lightweight, it weighs under a pound! I love that the outside is very easy to grip without dropping it, the plastic has those lines and it is a matte-rubbery texture. (Think NARS products, but without the propensity for collecting dusty fingerprints.)

When you turn it out, there are a couple of speed and heat options. I obviously am a bad girl that uses it on high heat and speed, but it is still pretty quiet. The cord is 9 feet long so I can walk just about any where I need to while still drying my hair. I use one of the 2 included concentrator nozzles, one is for just drying long, wet hair and the thinner one is to help with finishing a style. I haven't really noticed a difference in which nozzle that I use, but it's good to have a backup!

This is probably the best blow dryer that I've ever owned, and if I broke it tomorrow I would repurchase the exact same dyer. But, I'm not really expecting that to happen for quite a while.

A More Intensive Hair Treatment: Jose Eber Therapy Rx Review

Product Sent for Review

Conditioning Iron Review

I know what you're thinking. Another flat iron? Yawn.

But, it isn't a flat iron. Using this thing will affect your hair, but it isn't going to be straightening (or curling) anything. I have to confess that I was about to buy this, when Jose Eber sent me one to try out. I really, really wanted to try it out. I was convinced it wouldn't work and would be a waste of money. But if I was wrong, how could would that be?

I'm proud to report that I was wrong.

Does the conditioning flat iron light work?

So, what exactly is this thing? It's an infrared iron that also uses ultrasonic vibration. The idea is that you apply something conditioning to your hair, then use the Therapy Rx on your hair. Per Jose Eber:
Used in conjunction with any hair conditioner or oil, the Therapy RX penetrates the cuticle, breaks down the conditioner or oil into nano particles, and pushes it into your hair giving your hair an incredible moisture blast.

You apply whatever product you want to your hair after a shower, turn on the Therapy Rx (there's a simple switch) and you'll see the lights go on. Simply run the iron over your hair. There's no heat, and it feels like you couldn't possibly be doing anything to your hair. Once you think you've done this enough, just style your hair like usual.

So, while I didn't think I was really doing much to my hair, I can tell you that I definitely noticed a difference right away! Using the Therapy Rx definitely seems to do something to conditioners. My hair was immediately softer than it should have been with the leave in conditioner I used (or at least, than it usually is). It was especially effective when combined with Darshana (check out my review of Darshana Hair Oil). Using the Therapy Rx is like leaving Darshana on your hair for another 6 hours.

So, while I rarely rave on and on about a product, I have to say that I really do think this tool is worth the $200. It does pop up on occasion on sites like Hautelook, so snag one if you see it. This is a must have if your hair is damaged, you color your hair or do a lot of heat styling.

The Perfectly Imperfect: J Crew Hair

Nothing to Disclose

The secret behind J Crew Hair

I can not be the only one that is always inspired by the styling at J. Crew. From the second I got my first rugby shirt from them in the mid-90's, J Crew seems to have always just been on-point for me in terms of clothing, accessories and yes, even their beauty. (The prices? Not so much. They're still kind of expensive I think, and I'm a doctor.)

I've always loved how their models are perfect, but... not. They're always perfectly imperfect. Still somewhat approachable, right?

Lavett and Chin J Crew Hair

So, it turns out that the secret behind getting the perfectly imperfect hair is something that the J. Crew hair stylist has been creating on his own and bringing to shoots. While it is mostly used on the men, it also sneaks its way over to the women. And it is finally available, though only through J. Crew.

Brent Lavett is the stylist that created the products, and he offered some tips on how to recreate the look of J Crew hair at home!

"It’s ironic to think of the great lengths that women (and men) go to to achieve that “undone”, just-got-out-of-the-ocean look. I created my Sea Salt Spray to help people do this with ease, and using some of the best ingredients available so that hair isn’t dried out."

"Spray my Sea Salt Spray through sections of hair. If you’d like, you can also spritz hair with water and then apply my spray to damp hair, allowing it to dry with the product. Run fingers through your hair to increase volume, and if you have the time, you can loosely braid and then remove before heading out the door."

If you need a little extra hold, or have short hair, the Pomade is also available.

I Chopped It!

Big hair cut

Last weekend I went to a huge blogging conference, BlogHer. I'll have some recap eventually (I found a lot of cool things that I want to share that aren't beauty related), but the biggest thing, other than hanging out with a log ot my blogging friends, was that this happened. I suddenly chopped off my hair!

I fully admit that I was thinking about cutting off my hair. My regular readers might remember that last summer I completely fried my hair by skipping my heat protectant one day (OMG, never do that!), and my hair has grown enough that a shorter hair cut could finally get rid of the last bits of damage. Not to mention all of the great shorter hair cuts that were piling up in my hair inspiration Pinterest board....

Basically, most of the beauty bloggers were invited to an event for Mark Hill Hair, a really popular hair line in the UK that is launching at Walgreen's here in the US. We could get a braid or a blow out, which is what I had scheduled. When I showed up at 7:30 am with my friends, I wasn't anticipating what happened, and what you see above is about 1/3 of the hair that was on the floor.

Read on to see pics!

Want Long Hair? Hair Stylists Reveal Their Favorite Tips for Growing It Out Faster

Nothing to Disclose

How to get your hair to grow out faster and longer
Let's face it, we all get drawn in by the pictures of amazing cascading curls over on Pinterest. If you're thinking about growing out your hair, and dreading it, there are things you can do to speed along the process! I've asked some of the best hair stylists in the country for their best tips on growing out your hair and doing it fast! They gave me so many amazing tips that the post is split into 2 parts. The other half is over on Pammy Blogs Beauty, since my good friend Pam is in the middle of moving!

Crystal Casey
Regretfully, your hair will grow at its normal rate until the end of time (.5 inch per month) But keeping it looking healthy is a big part of keeping your legenth if you're growing it out. Getting a trim every 4-6 weeks is no myth. Will your hair keep growing if you don't get it cut? Of course…it will just start to look like straw on the ends. Once a split end develops it just keeps splitting up the hair strand which is what causes that unhealthy straw-like look. If you trim every 4-6 weeks you won't have to cut off 3-4 inches every 6-9 months.

Joshua Ristaino
Some of the best hair growth systems out there are Viviscal Professional Supplement Hair Nutrition Program or the Rene Furterer Triphasic Regenerating Treatment and the RF 80 Concentrated Serum. Viviscal helps hair growth internally and the Rene Furterer helps topically!

Greg Ruggeri
Biotin
(Greg is right, Biotin has been proven in medical studies to increase the rate of hair growth! You can read more about it in my Biotin for nail and hair health post)

Younghee Kim
To grow hair fast starts first with a healthy diet but we can always do more to help the hair by getting a hair and scalp balance service often which is why many of our clients at the Younghee Salon order weekly and monthly. It's literally like getting a facial or massage for your scalp. It stimulates the circulation to your head and this really helps the hair to grow faster. It's amazing, our clients love the hair and scalp balance! Also, getting a small trim or dusting the ends every 6 weeks on dry hair can be very helpful and thickens your hair as it grows.

Fighting the Frizz: Greg Ruggeri Shares His Favorite Products and Treatments

best ways to de-frizz your hair

anti-frizz hair tips
I recommend a fresh blowout with a small portion of an anti frizz product when the humidity is hight. Apart from Brazilian blowouts (the non toxic variety are okay for the short term), the use of a straightening iron with a thermal protectant is always a sure way to avoid frizz. To extend the life of this blowout, use a dry shampoo directly after the blowout.

My go-to products are evo hair's icon welder hot tool shaper (thermal protectant), liquid rollers curl balm, end doctor smoothing sealant (protects & binds the ends), water killer dry shampoo and love perpetua shine drops.

Fighting the Frizz: Alfredo Lewis Shares his Best Tips!

Nothing to Disclose

best ways to de-frizz your hair

Great Styling Products to Prevent Frizzy Hair
Create a style that goes with your hair type. When it's humid, hair tends to have a mind of its own. Don't fight it... embrace it! If you have straight hair, stay away from curls. If you have curly hair, choose waves or loose curls as your look for the day. Don't over-dry, and use a smoothing serum layered with a light smoothing gel to hold the style. But don't go crazy with the product....less is more.

Smoothing treatments are a great way to avoid frizz. My go-to is Brazilian Blowout. There is no down time, and it lasts for 12 weeks. I have gotten them regularly since summer arrived. My clients love them because the result is manageable, frizz-free hair for vacations and beach time.

I use these products on my clients and when I go to the salon: Brazilian Blowout Acai Daily Smoothing Serum is fantastic. Apply a quarter size to ends, and comb through. You can either air dry or apply before styling. Oribe Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray is FANTASTIC. I am addicted to it. It's light, yet holds and leaves hair with bounce and movement. It also smells incredible.

Fighting the Frizz: Andrea Dion Jacobs Shares Her Hawaii Tested Anti-Frizz Techniques

Nothing to Disclose

best ways to de-frizz your hair

best products to fight frizz in the tropics
I get to tackle frizz every day here on Maui. I like basic old school Joico styling lotion or light weight gels with a little drop of a Kerastase Ultime Elixer serum, run through wet hair and blow dry. The trick is make sure hair is dry, if there is any moisture in the hair it will frizz as soon as it hits the humidity. I find people who shampoo too often are fighting frizz because the hair is too clean, they then need to add oils or serums to tame the dryness.

If wearing hair natural and curly and frizz free I love Shu Uemura Art of Hair Kaze Wave, run through wet hair then air dry, once dry tame with a serum or Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Oil in Cream to tame frizz and freshen up the curls.

Andrea Dion Jacobs is based at the Orchid Salon in the Four Seasons Resort and Spa on the beautiful island of Maui (find them on Facebook). Becoming a hairstylist right out high school Andrea's life long love for the industry has taken her from behind the chair as a stylist and master colorist to 10 years as the owner of a successful Downtown Boston salon. She and her husband traded the city life for the sun and sand of Maui.

Fighting the Frizz: Tips from Hair Pros to Get Smooth & Shiny Hair this Summer despite Humidity

Products Sent for Consideration I Bought it Myself

best ways to de-frizz your hair
Admit it, this is a big hair concern in the summer, especially as the hot and humid months of summer are hitting us! No one likes to have frizzy hair, but it feels like once the humidity starts spiking some of us turn into poodles. It can be hard to not look like Monica Gellar in Barbados.

I asked some of the hottest hair stylists and colorists around the country for their best frizz fighting tips and smoothing products! I'll be featuring a different pro each day, but I thought it would be fun to share my own tips and product recommendations first. I have somewhat wavy hair, it's fine, but there's enough of it on my head for 4 people! In the Michigan summers we get a lot of humidity, so I'm pretty well versed in avoiding the frizz.

best ways to avoid frizz
I've found that when the humidity isn't too bad, I can just add in or swap out a few products to keep my hair smooth. My first move is to add a frizz fighting oil or serum to my hair when it is wet and comb in through completely.

I've had great results with the Avon Lotus Shield, which is a lightweight lotion that I can't even tell is in my hair. Another option that I've been trying out for the last few days is Redken's new Diamond Oil (I'm using the intense version). This is a very hydrating oil that only needs 2-3 drops per application! I apply it to my wet hair, comb it through, and apply another 2 drops to the ends of my hair once it is dry. It really keeps away any frizz, adds great shine and doesn't make my hair greasy.

Another one of my favorite tips when fighting frizz is to keep drying your hair. While I'm definitely pressed for time in the morning, if I think my hair is dry, I don't stop. A lot of that frizz starts right after you turn off that blow dryer, simply because your hair isn't quite fully dry. So, once I think my hair is done I'll keep going for another 2 minutes or so to really get it dry. This goes a long way toward making my hair look more like a professional blow out and not like I stuck a finger in a light socket!

Finally, when the humidity is really up there, I just swap out everything for the Living Proof frizz line. They have shampoo, conditioner, styling lotion... you name it! Even an amazing hair spray! All of it stands up to humidity and keeps my hair sleek even when I'm in the tropics.

Stay tuned this week for new tips from a different hair expert every day! Let me know what your favorite frizz fighting tips are in the comments!

9 Best Intensive Hair Masks

Now that all of the Beauty Spotlight Team members have visited the desert island (which may, or may not, have been very deserted for me, the post cheater), we've decided to start sharing top lists of our favorite products! And... once again I'm a cheater. I think these were meant to be top 10, but I only came up with 9 hair conditioners. Oops!

Regular readers of my blog will know that last summer I went a bit too crazy with my curling iron, and fried the top layers of my hair. Really and truly fried, the entire length of the very top layers of my hair felt like a brillo pad and it looked horrible!

I have tried so many hair masks since that time that I should either join CA (Conditioners Anonymous) or start my own hair mask store. Truly. I counted, at one point I had 15 (!!) in my shower. I don't think my husband realized that.

Of all of the hair masks that I tried, these are the ones that I would recommend to someone else.

1. L'Oreal Power Moisture (from Target or Amazon)

2. DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque (get it at ULTA or Amazon)

3. Brocato Cloud 9 (at Amazon)

4. Kiehl's Superbly Smoothing Argan Hair Pak (from Kiehl's or Nordstrom)

5. Pantene Advanced Keratin Repair (from Amazon)

6. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle (at Amazon)

7. Redken Extreme Strength Builder (get it from ULTA)

8. L'Oreal Total Repair 5 (available at Amazon and ULTA)

9. Joico K-Pak (at ULTA)
