Lightening Up For Summer: My Bare Minimum Makeup Look with Burt's Bees

Lightening Up For Summer: My Bare Minimum Makeup Look with Burt's Bees

Things have gotten a bit extra busy at my house with the onset of summer. Which I hadn't thought was even possible, but apparently is. Which means that I've found a whole new definition of running around! While running from activity to activity, squeezing in days at work, and trying to do things like work out (which is new for me, but I've started doing Essentrics and love it), I've found that I have even less time to get myself ready for the day than I did before.

On those crazy busy days, I've decided that a "less is more" look works for me a bit better than I thought. The keys for feeling like myself (and pulled together) seem to be some sort of coverage on my face, a little bit of color with lipstick (I used Iced Iris in these pictures, and then that same lipstick as blush, and some emphasis on my eyes. Usually for my eyes I settle for the BB Cream on the lids, sometimes if I can find it quickly enough, I'll use an eye shadow stick on my lids, and then I finish up with some mascara.

That's it. It's a whole new (and more minimalist) me! It only takes a few minutes, I can wear it for pretty much the whole day. I love the Iced Iris lip color as a pretty light and neutral pink lip color in the morning, but in the afternoon I usually punch it up a bit with Fuchsia Flood.

What's your go-to look when you have a crazy day planned and not much time? I want to know what your bare minimum, feeling like yourself and still made up look is like! Let me know in the comments.

Use This If You're In a Hurry: Burt's Bees BB Cream Review and Swatches

Burt's Bees BB Cream Review and Swatches

I've been getting a lot of requests lately for my recommendations for a lower priced complete makeup kit. I've done a few of those in the past, and I'll post a few in the next few weeks, but I thought it made sense to actually post a full review of one of the products that I know will be featured in those kits, and that I seem to be recommending a lot lately. Yes, it's a drugstore BB cream that works just as well as my favorite luxe BB creams. It's one of those that has just the right amount of coverage and I can blend it easily, it only takes a few seconds to apply so it is perfect for when I'm in a hurry. And it is from Burt's Bees!

Read on to learn more about this BB Cream and why I love it so much.

Quick Change Lipstick: Quick and Easy Weekend Looks with Burt's Bees

So, yes, I've been kind of obsessing over the new Burt's Bees BB Cream and lipsticks. But, there's a reason for it! Both of these products are amazing, and they outperform many higher priced items that I use. When I'm reaching for a drugstore lipstick over a higher priced luxe version (of nearly identical colors), then that drugstore lippie must be something special. And it really is.

Finally, this is a drugstore BB Cream I can recommend. After my last drugstore BB Cream was discontinued last year, I tried a lot of others, but didn't like any of them enough to recommend them. They were all kind of... meh. Not really worth featuring on the blog. This BB Cream has light to medium coverage, it blends beautifully and looks great all day long. That's exactly what I look for in a summer BB Cream!

I thought I'd share what my Saturday looked like with Burt's Bees. Yes, I was running from event to event, and changing up my lipstick was all I did to change up my look. It was all that I needed to do!

Quick and Easy 5 Minute Makeup with Burt's Bees and EcoTools

Quick and Easy 5 Minute Makeup with Burt's Bees and EcoTools

One of my favorite ways to save time when I'm in a rush is to use products that can multitask! Recently Burt's Bees® released a brand new BB Cream, just in time for summer, and I've been obsessing over it! It's saved me quite a bit of time on those days that I'm rushing around to get things done with my two girls. I was getting ready to take my 5 year old to her swim lesson earlier this week and took a few quick pictures while doing my makeup. Even with taking pictures, this entire look took me 5 minutes, start to finish! It is a fresher, lighter look than my "normal" (mostly because I'm not wearing at much makeup) but it still looks put together and is appropriate for my daily life.

To get this look, I used:
Burt's Bees® BB Cream in Light
2 Burt's Bees® Lipsticks:
Fuchsia Flood, a fun medium pink for a pop of color
Nile Nude, a light neutral that works almost anywhere. Suede Splash is also a good choice for this look.
EcoTools® Skin Perfection Brush, I love that this is like a small kabuki on handle! It's just the right size to buff foundation or BB Cream on my whole face, but it is small enough to get small areas like around my nose without any problems.
EcoTools® Detailed Lip Line Brush from the Day to Night Brush Set: This is a classic lip brush, and very silky so it feels great on my lips when applying lipstick. It seems to be easier to clean than many other lip brushes I've tried, so it is my go-to lip brush.
Mascara
Brow Pencil

You can buy all of those products at Walmart, just in the natural beauty section. Grab them next time you're picking up a few last minute groceries! Read on to see how I created the look!

Burt's Bees New Lipsticks: My New Favorite Drugstore Lippies

Burt's Bees Lipsticks Review and Swatches

I've posted quite a bit on the blog about my love of all the Burt's Bees lippies. I've gotten all of my friends obsessed, just this morning (well, yesterday now, this was on Tuesday) at work there was an extended debate between 2 of my nurses about whether the Lip Crayon or Tinted Balm was better. Yes, my work here is done. And in case you're wondering, I'm of the opinion that there is no real correct answer there, I like both. The answer is both.

A few months ago, I found out that Burt's Bees was going to be releasing a traditional lipstick. YES! More Burt's Bees Lippies! And I have to admit that the first day I saw them in person (which was the day before they all arrived at my doorstep), I spent a good 10 minutes checking out the colors and playing with the testers.

Have you noticed my obsession with trying out every facial cleansing wipe out there. The struggle is real. I must try them all!

Recently I tried out the facial cleansing towelettes from Burt's Bees. They have 5 different types, so there's one that will fit your skin's specific needs, rather than just a 1 type for everyone facial cleansing wipe.

Now that it is really fall (at least, it seems like it is? I bought pumpkins...) I'm craving darker lippies. I want something that isn't pink or peach, that shows up a little bit more from a distance. Traditionally, the fall is all about red and berry lips with jewel tones elsewhere. While I really love that look, I've found that it can be hard to keep a red lip looking perfect while you're out and about with 2 kids under the age of 4.

I don't attending Fashion Week. I don't really have time to spend a week in New York attending shows (I'd rather be home with my two little girls and husband), but I still pay (some) attention to the shows. It's hard not to, PR Reps send me a ton of info about the looks on the runway. I get many emails detailing who did the makeup, which products they used in the hair and which polish was on the models' nails.

The Best of Spring/Summer Drugstore Beauty

The Best of Spring/Summer Drugstore Beauty

I've been slowly trying out new drugstore products, but haven't had a chance to fully write up posts yet (full time job... 2 little kiddos...) Here are my favorites, hopefully they'll each get their own posts in the future!

1. CoverGirl The Super Sizer Mascara: This is the new "it" mascara from CoverGirl, and it is a good one! It has a molded plastic brush, but is prone to clumps. I swipe with a tissue first, and then the brush is perfect for keeping lashes separated and it reaches down right next to the lash line. I had to buy mine in store, I can't find it on-line.

2. Burt's Bees Renewal Firming Day Lotion w/SPF 30: Are you tired of me talking about this lotion yet? It's a nice, lightweight option for every day. It has full UV spectrum SPF 30 as well. You can read my Renewal Firming Day Lotion review for more details, or buy it from ULTA, Target, or Amazon.

3. L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper: It's amazing what a difference a good brow can make! One swipe of this mascara-like wand and my brows are instantly filled in, they stay put and look natural, not Instagrammy. (And yes, this is a dupe for a much more expensive product by Benefit.) Buy it at ULTA, Amazon, or Target.

4. NYX Color Correcting Cream: I'm a big fan of color correction for my rosacea associated redness (here's more info about how to color correct makeup), so green is my favorite tint. What's great about this color corrector is that the lotion is lightweight, works well under my other makeup and is invisible on my skin. Each tone also comes in 2 different intensities. Buy it at ULTA or NYX.

5. L'Oreal Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Quick Dry Primer Spray: Yes, it does just what it says. It is so lightweight you can't feel it in your hair, and it even protects against heat damage. Buy it from Amazon, Target, or ULTA.

6. Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss: I know, those tinted moisturizing lippies really aren't anything new, but these ones are different! They have Almay's shade changing technology. So, you pick your skin tone (light, light/medium or medium) and then there are 3 options for youin berry, pink, nude or red. The shade will automatically adjust to look perfect on you! Now we just need to convince Almay that women come in shades darker than "medium".

7. L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray: At $16 this is a bit expensive for L'Oreal, but it really is worth it. I received 2 bottles of it (one from L'Oreal and one from CVS), and gave the 2nd to a friend whose teenage daughter competes almost every weekend in dancing. She's reported that the spray works even for the intense dance competitions, dramatically cutting down on how often they need to reapply makeup. You can buy it from Amazon, Target, or ULTA.

8. Flower Beauty Transforming Touch: This is a really pretty powder to cream blush. It lasts for hours and creates a very pretty glow. Only available in person at Walmart currently, it's worth the trip!

Spring Renewal: Trying out Burt's Bees Renewal Line for 28 Days

Spring Renewal: Trying out Burt's Bees Renewal Line for 28 Days

I make no secret of my love for Burt's Bees. I post about their lip products on here all the time (and despite the fact that the company has sent me literally every color that they make, I'm still buying new ones all the time. Why? So I have them everywhere. I will not run out of the Apricot and Peony lip shimmers!)

So, you know when something new showed up in the big Burt's Bees area at my local Walmart (yes, I shop there all the time, I could walk to it from my house it is so close), I noticed right away. Hmmm.... what's this new stuff here right in the middle??

Burt's Bees Renewal Line at Walmart

I've been really curious about these products, especially the day lotion with sunscreen. They're right there. Right in the middle of the display, under my beloved Burt's Bees lippies. So, when they asked if I would go buy some and write about using them as part of their 28 Day Face Cleanse Challenge, I pretty much ran to my local store to pick up a few of the products. There is also a night cream, eye cream and firming serum. I bought the cleanser and day lotion.

Renewal Firming Day Lotion with SPF 30
I recommend using a daily light sunscreen every day, but there actually aren't that many out there that I like, and most are at a higher price point. In addition, most lotions only have SPF 15, and usually the sunscreen is chemical, rather than physical.

Not the case here! SPF 30!

 class=

And yes, full UV spectrum protection, SPF 30.

What is so special about these products? Per Burt's Bees:
"Our Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Complex, infused with wrinkle smoothing White Hibiscus and intensively hydrating Apple, locks moisture inside the skin to plump up cells and help visibly tighten the skin’s surface. The look of wrinkles is diminished and skin appears smoother and firmer."

I do have to say that only retinoids have been found to reverse wrinkles, but Hibiscus is an anti-oxidant that really helps counteract UV damage in the skin (reference), has anti-cancer activity (reference), and helps with wound healing (reference). The "Apple Rejuvenating Complex" is an extract of apples, which does have some anti-oxidant activity (though not as much as other juices such as pomegranate) and naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids.

I've used the lotion a few times already, and it is nicely hydrating but sinks in to my skin quickly. Perfect for under makeup!

Renewal Refining Cleanser
This is where I admit that I have a "thing" for cleansers. I seem to collect them, forever in the hunt for my new favorite. I have 3 next to my bathroom sink as I write this and a few more in my shower.

This cleanser is said to be hydrating and gently exfoliating, both of which really appealed to me. I've used it a few days, and it is very hydrating for a cleanser and easy to rinse off, which I loved. I'm on the fence about the grit in the cleanser, meant to help exfoliate the skin. It's a bit larger than I'm used to with cleansers, but as long as it is used gently (rather than with a deep cleansing brush like Clarisonic), I think it is fine.

Here I am, sans makeup (and after a long night with the baby, so be kind!) before starting my 28 Day Challenge. I'll post an update in a few weeks over on social media.

If you want to join me and try out a few of the products too, here's a coupon to get started!

Spring Is Here: Feeling Pink

Spring Is Here, Feeling Pink Burt's Bees Lippies

Spring is finally here! Well, kind of. It takes a while here in Michigan. But, there are finally flowers emerging from the ground and I ran errands without a down jacket. So, it must be a sign!

Now that it is warming up, I find myself craving pink. Pink, pink and more pink! One of the best ways to get a little fix, without making my rosacea look worse, is to use a little pink gloss or tinted balm, my favorites are from Burt's Bees. They offer just a hint of the pink, but offer a ton of hydration. Which I really need, because pink usually means a lot of wind in my area, and chapped lips are just a sign of the season. Luckily, these pink lip options all keep my lips nice and soft!

My favorites are pictured above:
• Lip Shimmer in Grapefruit, Champagne, Strawberry, and Guava
• Lip Crayon in Carolina Coast
• Lip Shine in Wink, Whisper, and Blush
• Lip Gloss in Ocean Sunrise

What color are you craving this spring? You can probably find it in Burt's Bees Lip Shade Finder!

A Day in Lippies: How I Change On The Go

Product Sent for Review Sponsored Post

A Day in Lippies: How I Change On The Go

Burt's Bees has asked me to share how I change up my lippies throughout the day. When do I refresh? When do I change things up?

I have to be honest and say that I rarely wear the same lippie all day long. I usually have a collection in my jeans pocket (or white coat pocket if I'm working that day), and I use each product very specifically. I have an actual plan!

A Day in Lippies: How I Change On The Go

For me, it all starts with the most basic lip balm, the Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I put it on as I apply lotion in the morning. It really moisturizes my lips while I dry and style my hair as well as apply makeup. It also seems to be an amazing primer under lip gloss! A light layer of this lip balm under any gloss will make the gloss last for hours (that's your pro lip tip of the day, just FYI). After that, I typically use a variety of pink and nude toned lippies. I've really found that this color combination works with my pale skin, making me look more awake! You can find colors that work for this with the Burt's Bees Shade Finder for their Lip Color Products.

Recently, I've been starting the day with applying the Lip Crayon once my makeup is complete. My favorite shade is the Carolina Coast seen here (swatch #1). It's a perfect mid-tone pink, and despite sipping on coffee all morning it should last until late morning.

As my lip crayon finally starts to wear off, I start reaching for products to reapply while on the go. If I'm at home that means I'm with my two girls, so I really need something fast and easy to apply. I've found that the Lip Shines offer just enough color and I can swipe them on without needing to worry about perfect application! Peachy (swatch #5) is the one I've been reaching for most often. I really love the neutral shade layered over the pinker tone of Carolina Coast.

If I'm at work, I often carry two products in my white coat pocket. First, a tinted lip balm (Honeysuckle, #2) to provide a little color. Just like before, I love to layer pink and more neutral, so I often pair it with Ocean Sunrise Lipgloss (#3). The lip balm base helps the lip gloss last a lot longer, and the combination of pink and neutral/tan works really well with my pale complexion.

Finally, I can't even tell you how many tubes of Champagne Lip Shimmer (#4) I own! It offers very little color, mostly it has just the right shimmer color for layering over any other lippie. I love to carry it with me for quick reapplication, particularly during the winter when I feel like my lips are dry.

Am I the only one that carries a big selection of lip products with them? What do you do?

Get the Look: Perfect Nude Lippies At The 2015 Grammy Awards

Product Sent for Review Sponsored Post

Did you watch the Grammys last night? Me neither. (I was busy with my little ones, then collapsed into bed.)

But, I definitely checked out the beauty and fashion round ups this morning. While my favorite beauty look was Jennifer Hudson, her purple/berry lippie is hard for most of us to pull off.

I was definitely struck by how many of the stars had amazing nude/neutral lips. I usually expect to see darker reds and berries in the winter, but this year's Grammy Red Carpet was definitely the year of the nude lippie!

There are a lot of ways to get the look yourself. There are all sorts of lists out there for the best nude lipstick (I've even written some of them myself). But I think that the easiest and most flattering way to get the look is with a lip crayon. You want one that is creamy and tinted enough to offer a bit of color, but still translucent. I really think that bit of translucency is the key to a nude lippie looking great in real life. Without it, unless you have absolutely the right color (and let's face it, there isn't a perfect nude lipstick for everyone), you'll look washed out. The translucency lets you fudge it a bit.

Perfect Nude Lippies At The 2015 Grammy Awards

My favorite products for this look are the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons and Lip Shines (I've pulled my favorite colors for this look and used them in these pictures, but you can see their full range of lip shades here). The Lip Crayons are creamy and more pigmented than their tinted lip balms, but offer just the right amount of translucency. The perfect nude tone is really a peachy-pink, so I layer a little bit of Carolina Coast over Sedona Sands. The finish is a semi-matte, though I like to layer a tiny bit of the Lip Shine over it. I just dab it into the center of my lower lip to add some depth and make my lips look a little plumper, Spontaneity is my favorite to use.

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayons

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayons

Now that the holidays are here, it is amazing how busy everyone is! Between holiday shopping, preparing for celebrations and recovering from those celebrations, there are are just not enough hours in the day. In my final post with the Burt's Bee Lip Crayons, I'm showing how just changing out your lippie can make a big difference in your overall look! I fully admit that I've become obsessed with these lip crayons, they have a creamy matte finish and last for hours. While there are 6 shades currently, I'm hoping that more shades are released soon!

I started with just a very basic eye look. I primed my eye and then put a matte vanilla shadow all over the lid, up to the brow bone. I have a light brown in my crease and dark brown liner on just my upper lash line.

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Sedona Sands

I paired this basic look with Sedona Sands, which is a fantastic nude shade on my lips! I love that it has just a little bit of pink in the nude tone, it keeps the color from washing me out. This is look is perfect for every day, whether I'm home with my newborn or we're out running errands together!

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Hawaiian Smolder

By trading out Sedona Sands for Hawaiian Smolder, I've added some fun color to the look. I would probably wear this look for the same things, I love a bright lippie just for every day, but it would also be great for going out to dinner. I've layered a little bit of Burt's Bees Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor over the Hawaiian Smolder, just to add a bit of shine and dimension to my look. Over in the Burt's Bees Lip Tip Library you'll find a lot of great color combinations!

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayons

For the last look, I wanted something more dramatic that you could easily wear to a party. I started with the same eye look as earlier, but added a bit of a shimmery nude shadow over my lid. It was just enough to pick up the light, but the look is still very light. I then used an angled brush to apply a dark brown shadow along both the upper and lower lash lines, really adding more emphasis to my eyes. It only took about 2 or 3 minutes to do this, making this a quick and easy day to night look!

What A Difference A Lippie Makes: Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Napa Vineyard

I wore my new favorite red lippie, the Lip Crayon in Napa Vineyard, with the more dramatic eye look. There's a little of the same Spring Splendor in the center of my lip for a little extra shine as well.

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Review and Swatches, Easy Daily Look Tutorial

Product Sent for Review Sponsored Post

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Review

Burt's Bee Lip Crayon has just been released, and I have to admit that I'm pretty obsessed! There are 6 shades, they're all moisturizing and have a creamy, matte finish. I love that they're well pigmented, but they have just enough translucency to make them very easy to wear and flattering.

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon Swatch Picture

Burt's Bees does have a Lip Shade Finder to help you pick a great color, but I think it's pretty easy to just grab a few shades that fit a look you want, whether that's a red lippie, a vampy lip or something pretty natural and subtle. All of the shades that I've tried are universally flattering and will work no matter what your skin tone.

The Lip Crayons are smooth and creamy, I found that they feel pretty hydrating on my lips and are easy to apply without much extra work needed. I've found that they stick around for hours, without needing reapplication. You can very easily layer them with a gloss or balm to vary the color and finish, there's actually an entire page of Lip Look Tips on the Burt's Bees website, though I admit I haven't experimented with that yet. I've been pretty happy with just the Lip Crayon alone!

I decided to start with the pretty pink of Carolina Coast. I wanted a pretty, wearable look that was just right for every day. It's a look I would wear while running errands (which is what I did on Monday with this look), I could wear it to work or a 4 year old birthday party. Which is what I'm doing this weekend.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

I started with a lid that was already prepped with shadow primer, Tarte's Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick. I used the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Palette to create this look. First I used a fluffy shadow brush to put a wash of Skimp all over my lid up to the brow bone. It is a light ivory/nude shade with a satin finish. Next I used a crease brush to apply Frisk, a warm matte grey, into my crease and just a little bit into the outer corner of my eye.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

I then used my beloved Elizabeth Arden Smoky Liner in black to line my upper lash line, and I did put a little bit in the waterline of my lower lash line as well. I used the Sephora #11 Smudge Brush to smudge both lines just a little bit, creating a softer look.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

Next It was time for lashes and brows! My lashes are suffering a bit without my lash serum (it isn't pregnancy safe), but I've gotten pretty good results with curling my lashes, using Urban Decay's Perversion Lash Primer and then Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Next, I filled in my brows a bit with IT Cosmetics Your Brows but Better pencil.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

To add a little emphasis to my brow, I trace a quick line of Too Faced Instant Attitude Brow Lift above and below my brows. It doesn't need to be perfect, I smudge it out quickly with my finger just to make my brow look more polished.

Next it was time to add concealer. Note that on this day I did use a bit more than usual. Why? I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant (meaning, I don't sleep well!) and in addition, I was on call the night before! I was getting phone calls from work. So, I needed a little extra help to look awake.

You can see the outline of where I spread my concealer, which was Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer. Under my eyes it was spread out in a triangle under my eyes, and up into the inner corner of the eye. I also included some around the nostrils to cover up redness, and then a little in the middle of my forehead and center of my chin as a subtle highlight. I blended it in really well using my BeautyBlender sponge.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

Since I'm going for a subtle, pink glowy look, I added just a little pink blush, Too Faced's Sweetheart Flush Blush in Something About Berry. I applied this shimmery pink blush just to the apples of my cheeks.

I finished up the look with Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Carolina Coast. I'm really loving this color! It's pink but also pretty neutral and I think the depth works really well for my pale skin.

Glowy and Easy makeup look tutorial

Fall has finally started here in Michigan, and since this was just a day of running errands this is the rest of my look! Sweater: Victoria's Secret (size down, I'm easily hiding my 8 1/2 month belly in a size large!), Leggings: Old Navy, Boots: Tory Burch, Purse: YSL (old, but similar here and here).

Carrying In My Pocket: Burt's Bees Tinted Lippies

Product Sent for Review Sponsored Post

review and swatches Burt's Bees tinted lip balm, gloss, shimmer and shine

Have you noticed that I have a thing for tinted lip balms? I love having something in my pocket that I can just slick on without a thought. I don't want to hunt down a mirror for perfect application, but I still want some color! I can't be the only one that looks too pale when her lips are completely bare, right?

A few months ago I picked up a Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm at the grocery store. They were there on an end cap (and strangely enough, that end cap was right next to the ice cream. It was a sign.) so I grabbed one. I hadn't used their tinted products in years, it was time to use them again right?

What happened next was somewhat predictable. I grabbed another one a few weeks later. And another a few weeks after that. I probably own 4 now, though since they live in my jeans pockets (and often, the pocket of my white coat at work), I usually have no idea where they are. They stay in pockets or get pulled out and put down places "where I'll find them later", like the kitchen counter and my nightstand. Finding a tinted lip balm to use that day is kind of amazing, a sign that it's going to be a good day.

When I was asked if I wanted to post about Burt's Bees, I have to admit, my only thought was... more. tinted. lip balm. yessss..... They sent me 4 products to try out (though I've bought all 4 formulas multiple times on my own in the past), and it was hard to fight the urge to start using these every day too. I had to force myself to take these pictures before I used them, all 4 tubes are now in various pockets (I'm wearing Sweet Violet as I write this post).

So, there are 4 different Burt's Bees formulations, and you can see from these swatches that all four formulations are translucent and offer varying levels of pigment. The Burt's Bees website describes different flavors on occasion, but I don't taste or smell anything from them. I love to layer the tinted balms under all of the others, just whichever ones I happen to be able to locate.

Lip Shimmer: There are 14 shades of lip shimmer, while Peony is in the mid-tone range of these shades, on the lip it is barely tinted and has some very pretty shimmer.

Lip Gloss: In my experience the glosses offer great non-sticky shine and are usually the most pigmented of the lippies. They come in 12 different shades, all 12 have a bit of shimmer.

Lip Shine: More shine, a bit less pigmented than the glosses, the 6 shades aren't shimmery.

Tinted Lip Balm: These ones are my favorite. There are 9 shades, and I swear I will collect them all (I'm hopeful that having so many means I'll always have one when I want it). There's just a hint of color, but it is enough to show up on my lips. It's nicely hydrating and has been my go-to lip balm this winter.

What's your go-to lippie right now?
