MAC's Mickey Contractor Eye Shadows

MAC Mickey Contractor Eye Shadows, swatches
The recent Mickey Contractor collection release from MAC included 4 different eye shadows, all of which were meant to pick up on different bits of Bollywood.

In creating these eye shadows, MAC and Bollywood Makeup Artist Mickey Contractor wanted to "pick up on Indian women‟s love of frost, in four deeply pigmented shades wonderfully reminiscent of Indian silks."

Saffron - Deep coral caramel (Satin)
Rani - Bright fuchsia with soft pink pearl (Frost)
Marvel - Deep purple with soft pink pearl (Frost)
Oomph - Forest green with soft gold pearl (Veluxe Pearl)

According to MAC, these colors are more versatile than they look:
Take Rani, a bright fuchsia with a soft pink pearl, inspired by intense pink favoured by Maharani's in Rajasthan. “It looks a lot hotter in the palette than it does on your skin – you can wear it as a light wash if you‟re delicate when applying it with your fingers” suggests Mickey.

Personally, I did apply them a little thick (using a q-tip) for the swatches, and they do work very well as a wash. On my pale skin the Marvel and Oomph are the most versatile, and perfect for a smokey eye.

  1. I seriously love this collection-- naturally. Their Moisture Cover Concealer has fulfilled a huge void in my makeup world. Obsessed with the "Gulabi" lipstick. That's all I wear now. The eye shadows would look great on lighter skins too.
