I recently showed you OPI Skull and Glossbonesalone, I couldn't resist showing it off under Silver Shatter!
OPI

I bought Silver Shatter myself, Skull & Glossbones was a sample.

Ah! How do you make it shatter so well?! I've tried my silver shatter and it's being difficult! It that more of a thick coat or a thinner coat?
ReplyDeleteI use it over completely, 100% dry polish. usually I apply the base one day, shatter the next. I've had good results with and without top coat over that solid color. I apply a somewhat thick coat of shatter/crackle, I've heard that applying a lighter coat will result in smaller cracked pieces, though I prefer the bigger pieces. I've also tried applying it in different directions (diagonal, sideways, etc) and those will change the pattern too. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the silver shatter with the pirates collection. Have you tried Mermaid's Tears under the silver? It's such a great look. And it is best to apply a thicker coat of shatter as a opposed to a thinner coat from my experience :)

I love the tone on tone. That is seriously how I would use the shatters for a more subtle look.
ReplyDeleteSally Hansen also came out with shatter. OPI's White crackle is not so great though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Sally Hansen ones just came out. I bought the gold one about a week or so ago, but haven't tried it yet. I'm hoping it is as good as the China Glaze and OPI ones.
ReplyDeleteThe white OPI is a little strange, sometimes it looks like sour cream to me. It works well, it just is hard to pair with things, which is surprising.
