Quick and Easy 5 Minute Makeup Look Tutorial with Sally Beauty Supply

While I would love to have unlimited amounts of time each day to get ready, that just is not possible! Especially on days that I'll be with my daughters. At 4 years and 9 months old, they aren't understanding of mom's yearning for a few more minutes of "mommy time" in the morning! So, many weekend mornings I have to make the most of my 5 minutes.

I thought I would create a quick tutorial of one of my go-to 5 minute looks. This look actually takes me a little less than 5 minutes, and everything you need to recreate it yourself can be found at your local Sally Beauty!

5, 10 and 15 Minute Makeup: How Does It Work For You?

15 Minute Makeup Look

It is no secret that I don't have much time to get ready each morning. I even went so far as naming this blog 15 Minute Beauty, when really, I would prefer a much more leisurely 2 hours (and really, only 2 hours because there would be frequently reading breaks and lots of hair and face masks). I'm all for anything that can speed the entire process up for me, and if that includes someone helping me decide which makeup to apply based upon how much time I have to get ready, then that is great!

Clarins is featuring their 5, 10, and 15 Minute makeup routines. You start with just a few products and then add additional steps/swap out a few products depending upon how much time you have. Here's how I used each of their suggested products!

5 Minute Makeup Look with Clarins

5 Minutes

• Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Light Reflecting Foundation SPF 10: This is very light coverage, just enough to get rid of major skin imperfections, but lets my skin show through. It blends easily with my fingertips.
• Multi-Blush Cream Blush: This product is my new favorite from Clarins! It has a light creamy texture, and while less pigmented than other cream blushes that I've used in the past, it builds easily, blends for a very pretty flush and I also used it on my lips.
• Be Long Mascara: The brush on this mascara is wonderful! It is a molded plastic and smaller than many other mascara brushes, so it gets super close to the base of my lashes and helps pull apart lashes so they don't get spidery.
• Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector: This has long been one of my favorite lip balms! There's a little bit of tint and shimmer just to keep it from being too boring.

The 5 minute look was actually even faster than 5 minutes. I applied the foundation with my fingertips to the center of my face and on to my eye lids (pesky visible blood vessels!) I didn't have to do much blending, but a quick buffing with a brush. I applied the cream blush to my cheek bones and then on to my lips for a little added color. After curling my eye lashes I used the mascara and applied a bit of Lip Perfector and I was done!

10 Minute Makeup Look with Clarins

10 Minutes

For this look, I kept the blush, mascara and lippie, but added a few extra steps.

• Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch: This is a light pink (but goes on translucent) smoothing primer to help blur skin imperfections. I thought it was a great product and will be trialling it out for a further review
• Extra-Firming Foundation SPF 15: A light to medium coverage
• Instant Concealer: Medium coverage concealer, this product is really easy to blend perfectly and I found that it covered up my annoying undereye blood vessel without being cakey.
• Crayon Khôl Eye Pencil: This pencil is that perfect blend of hard enough to not be smushed but soft enough that it easily applies and smudges to look good, but then sets up to stay put all day long. I love that instead of having the more traditional smudging sponge on the other end of the pencil, it actually has a very good smudge brush!
• Ombre Matte Eyeshadow Cream to Powder Smoothing & Long-Lasting: Clarins sent me Nude Beige and it was a great, very neutral base color for my lids. I've tried applying it with a fingertip and with a brush, and both do work. It is a powdery-cream and after application it just looks like a regular powder shadow. I found that it was very easy to blend as well. There are currently 5 shades and I'll be picking up a few others to try out as well, I am really impressed with this shadow!

While there are quite a few products in the 10 minute look, again it didn't take me that long (I timed myself at about 8 1/2 minutes). First I applied the Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch to the center of my face with a fingertip, smoothing it around over my pores and under my eyes. I blended it a bit with a BeautyBlender, then touched up my undereye circles with the Concealer. I also applied the concealer over my lids, helping to conceal my visible blood vessels. Next I patted a little of the blush on my cheeks and onto my lips, which I then added the lip perfector over.

For my eyes I applied the shadow all over with a fingertip. I used the liner just directly in my lash line, a very thin line. I also used the brush end of the liner to smudge it slightly. Finally I curled my lashes and applied mascara.

This look is still pretty natural, the main differences (which aren't as apparent in this picture as it was in person) was the liner and the concealer. They made me look a bit more pulled together than in the 5 minute, more natural look.

15 Minute Makeup Look with Clarins

15 Minutes

• Everlasting Foundation+ SPF 15: This was the fullest coverage of the 3 foundations, so it did take a little bit more time to blend, but it wasn't more than about 2 minutes.
• 3-Dot Liner: I haven't tried a 3 way liner like this before, but I just used it like a regular felt tip liquid liner. It is nicely pigmented.
• Rouge Eclat Lipstick Satin Finish, Age-Defying Lipstick: They sent me a red color, which was really pretty, but applying a perfect red lippie probably takes me 15 minutes alone!

Here, I applied the makeup the same way as in the 10 minute look, but with a few differences. First, because this is more coverage, the foundation did take longer to get just right.

The next major difference was the liner. I once again applied the liner pencil to my lash line, because I like to have liner really in my lash line, and I have a hard time getting liquid liner down between the lashes. It's just easier to use a pencil liner there as usual, and then apply the liquid over the top. I applied a nice line of the liquid, it is thicker at the outer corner but I didn't do a cat eye because that would take me much too long!

Finally, my lips here are different! Because Clarins sent me a lipstick I applied that, but red can take a very long time to get just right. So, I used it as a stain! I applied it as a lipstick quickly, I didn't worry about making it perfect. I then blotted with a tissue and applied the lip perfector over the top.

The final difference between the 10 and 15 Minute looks was my eye brows, which Clarins didn't include in their quick looks, but I always find to make a big difference in how pulled together my look is. I used the Clarins Kit Sourcils Pro Perfect Eyes & Brows Palette, which only took a minute or two but made a big difference.

My Current Makeup Routine

Product Sent for Review Affiliate Links I Bought It

My Current Makeup Routine

I get asked quite often what my current beauty routine is in the morning, and the truth is that I don't really have a "go to" beauty routine that I use every day. My routine varies quite a bit depending upon the day. I work about 8-10 days a month (yes, that's considered full time at my job!), and I'm home the rest of time with my 3 month old (the 4 year old usually goes to her preschool/day care, though once a week she stays home with me too). So, I have days where I'm professional, days that I'm home with just my 3 month old, and I have days with both girls. I even get days that I'm home completely alone, though that's not very often.

I thought I'd share what I'm currently doing on days that I work, so it is the most complete look. I fully admit that I'll skip steps depending on how much time my girls let mommy have to put on her makeup! This entire look takes me about 10 minutes, start to finish.

1. Prep
I'm currently using BB cream or Tinted Moisturizer each morning simply to save time. I usually do my eyes before my face, but if I waited until after my eyes were done to apply, I'd be super dry! So, right after washing my face, I apply whichever product I'm using that day, then let it absorb while I'm working on my eyes.

I'm currently using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (from Nordstrom) in Blush, which is a perfect match for my skin. I do wish that it had a little bit more coverage, but it is easy to just smear all over my face and requires very little blending.

I also like to apply a basic lip balm at this time so it can start to do its magic! I typically just use whatever I have on the vanity, my favorite is Kiehl's #1 Lip Balm (from Nordstrom).

2. Eyes
While my tinted moisturizer is absorbing, I do my eyes. When I'm crunched for time, I've been doing this eye look, which is neutral but a little bit glowy and it is hard to mess up!

I start with an eye primer, usually the NYX Eye Shadow Base in Nude (from ULTA or Drugstore.com). I can apply it super fast with just my fingers and it is a great match for my skin with coverage, so it hides all of those visible blood vessels.

Next I grab Stila's Eyes Are the Window Shadow Palette in Soul (from Sephora). It has a lot of great neutral shimmery shades, which is what I love. I use Kitten and Vitality, using a big fluffy brush I pick up a little of both and apply in a light wash over my entire lid, up and over the crease. Next I grab a smaller crease brush and apply Thought to my crease and a little to the outer V of my lid.

Next I line my eyes with brown liner, Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Precision Glide Eyeliner in Java (from Macy's or Elizabeth Arden). I like this eye liner because it is hard enough to get between my lashes but still soft enough that the color applies easily and smudges perfectly. I just do a very rough lining, pushing the pencil into my lash line and moving it around a little to really get the liner down in there. My line is usually a bit thicker at the outer corner than it is at the inner corner. I only line the top of my eye, since I'm up so much in the middle of the night with the baby I figure adding any potential for shadow under my eyes is a bad idea! Once my eyes are lined I grab a smudge brush (usually NARS Smudge Brush #45) and I smudge the liner just a bit.

Finally I finish up with mascara. I curl and then apply one that will add nice volume and grab all of my little lashes. I'm currently using either Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara (at Sephora) or Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara (from Nordstrom).

3. Brows
Brows is one of the first steps that I'll skip when I'm pressed for time, but really it should be one of the last steps. Filling in my brows a little with my favorite pencil, the It Cosmetics Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil (from ULTA), only takes about a minute and really does make me look much more pulled together. Sometimes I'll add a little Too Faced Instant Attitude Brow Lift (from Too Faced) right under my brow.

4. Face
Once my eyes are done, it's time to fix the rest of my face! I've found that by spending more time on my eyes, I actually end up using a lot less product on my face, and I end up looking better. I already have a little bit of coverage from my tinted moisturizer, so now I go after any problem areas.

I start by using my FACE Stockholm red and blue correctors (get them from Dermstore). Here's how to color correct your makeup. I only very lightly pat it just on the areas that need correction.

Next I apply concealer in a triangle under my eyes, around my nostrils and over any other imperfections. You can learn more about the triangle application in my concealer tips and tricks post. I have a couple of concealers that I like a lot (Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, LA Girl Pro Concealer HD and Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer.

Blending is usually necessary with concealer, mostly because I like those very pigmented concealers! I love my BeautyBlender (at Sephora). I just pounce it up and down over the area very quickly, the blending is fast and looks a lot better than when I use a brush.

Next I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks. Lately I've been in love with the It Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Palette (at ULTA). Another great option is the Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native (at Sephora), a very pretty pink. Both of these palettes have blush, highlighter/illuminator and bronzer. I usually use the blush on my cheeks first then tap into the illuminator/highlighter, a tiny bit of the blush, and I go all over my face. You can't really see shimmer or color from this quick sweep on my forehead, nose and chin, but it really brightens my look!

Once my blush is on, I apply a little powder to my t-zone. Usually MAC Blot Powder (from Nordstrom). This tones down the blush quite a bit, so I sometimes add a little more over the powder. I've found that layering my blush under and over the powder adds a lot of time to the wear.

Finally, I add a little highlighter! This finishing step isn't something that shows up in pics, but in person makes me look much more awake. I've been using the RMS Beauty Living Luminizer (from J Crew) in my inner eye corner, on my cheek bones and down the center of my nose.

5. Lips
By this point, I've usually run out of time. Since I've already applied some basic balm, my lips are already moisturized. Then I'll run around all day with a tinted lippie or balm in my pocket and just apply as needed. My current absolute favorite is the Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil (from Sephora) in I Rose for You. It feels very hydrating and goes on looking basically clear. Over a few minutes it gets a bit darker. I think it's really easy to just swipe on whenever I need some.

I have this routine down so that it really does take roughly 10 minutes start to finish! What's your go-to makeup look when you don't have a lot of time?

Get the Look: Perfect Nude Lippies At The 2015 Grammy Awards

Product Sent for Review Sponsored Post

Did you watch the Grammys last night? Me neither. (I was busy with my little ones, then collapsed into bed.)

But, I definitely checked out the beauty and fashion round ups this morning. While my favorite beauty look was Jennifer Hudson, her purple/berry lippie is hard for most of us to pull off.

I was definitely struck by how many of the stars had amazing nude/neutral lips. I usually expect to see darker reds and berries in the winter, but this year's Grammy Red Carpet was definitely the year of the nude lippie!

There are a lot of ways to get the look yourself. There are all sorts of lists out there for the best nude lipstick (I've even written some of them myself). But I think that the easiest and most flattering way to get the look is with a lip crayon. You want one that is creamy and tinted enough to offer a bit of color, but still translucent. I really think that bit of translucency is the key to a nude lippie looking great in real life. Without it, unless you have absolutely the right color (and let's face it, there isn't a perfect nude lipstick for everyone), you'll look washed out. The translucency lets you fudge it a bit.

Perfect Nude Lippies At The 2015 Grammy Awards

My favorite products for this look are the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons and Lip Shines (I've pulled my favorite colors for this look and used them in these pictures, but you can see their full range of lip shades here). The Lip Crayons are creamy and more pigmented than their tinted lip balms, but offer just the right amount of translucency. The perfect nude tone is really a peachy-pink, so I layer a little bit of Carolina Coast over Sedona Sands. The finish is a semi-matte, though I like to layer a tiny bit of the Lip Shine over it. I just dab it into the center of my lower lip to add some depth and make my lips look a little plumper, Spontaneity is my favorite to use.

Chrissy Teigen's Bouncy Pony at the 2015 Golden Globes

Did you hear all about how great Chrissy Teigen looked at the Golden Globes too? Yes, it was everywhere. And really, she did look pretty great. He had a very pretty lacy blush dress on, but when paired with her wavy ponytail the look was pretty and approachable.

Chrissy's hair was done by Celebrity Hairstylist and International Creative Director for Macadamia Professional, Giannandrea. It was a modern, elegant take on the playful pony.

Get the Look:
• Apply Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer (at ULTA) on wet hair before blow drying the whole head with a large round brush, to create ample volume at the roots and length

• Use a 1-inch curling iron and curl the whole head in waves

• Once the hair was set in waves, use a generous dollop of Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream (at Folica) and run hands throughout the hair, using fingers to create supple separation and texture all the way through the ends

• Gather hair into a high pony tail, slightly below the crown. Tie the pony into an elastic band and take a small section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic band covering it. Keep the pony playful by using your fingers to open it up and make it wide, textured and volumized

• Make sure it’s not too tight around the face by creating volume at the front with separation. Leave some fly aways on the sides for an effortless look

• Spray in place with Macadamia Control Working Spray (at ULTA) to protect against humidity and set for a night out

Get the Look: Kate Beckinsale's Up Do at the 2015 Golden Globes

As usual, Kate Beckinsale looked amazing at the Golden Globes. I'm convinced that she can do no wrong. Her skin is always glowing, her hair healthy and beautiful, yet she never seems to be over shadowed by any one element of her look, everything just works.

Kate's sleek and sophisticated, yet still approachable, updo was created by celebrity hairstylist Creighton Bowman of Tracey Mattingly.

"Our inspiration for the evening came from Kate's stunning Elie Saab gown and the idea of adding length to her silhouette by adding height to her hair," said Creighton.

Get the Look:
• First, on towel-dried hair, I applied René Furterer VOLUMEA volumizing foam (at Beauty.com) - no rinse at the roots and René Furterer FIORAVANTI shine enhancing no-rinse detangling spray (at Beauty.com) on the ends.

• Also, I sprayed on René Furterer LISSEA thermal protecting smoothing spray (at Beauty.com) to help protect the hair from my heat styling tools.

• Next, using a medium-sized round brush, I blew out the hair.

• Once Kate's blowout was finished, I curled the hair with a 1 1/4" curling iron and then set the hair into 1" sections.

• I then brushed out the curls and sprayed René Furterer NATURIA dry shampoo (at Beauty.com) all over for added texture and thickness.

• To begin the updo, I pulled all of the hair to the top of the crown and secured it with a ponytail holder.

• Once the ponytail was secure, I wrapped all of the hair around the ponytail base in a forward motion and secured it with pins in the front of the ponytail.

• Finally, I used René Furterer VEGETAL FINISHING SPRAY (at Beauty.com) to hold the look in place and to smooth any flyaways.

Rosamond Pike's Sleek Bob at the 2015 Golden Globes

Rosamond Pike's look was certainly a show stopper at the 2015 Golden Globes! Her dress was amazing with the side cutouts. To complement her dress, celeb hair stylist Kylee Rae Heath created a sleek look using Oscar Blandi products. "We were inspired by the ethereal gorgeous white dress and wanted the hair to be straight and sleek in contrast."

Get the Look:
• On damp hair apply Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse (at ULTA) throughout the roots and spray Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist (at ULTA) from mid-shaft through the ends and comb through the hair.

• Create a deep, straight side part with a tail comb.

• With a small round brush blow dry hair on a low setting to work shine and volume into the hair.

• Once the hair is dry, spray Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray (at ULTA) onto the hair & smooth out the ends with a flat iron. It is key to only hit the ends with the iron to maintain volume at the roots.

• Apply a small amount of Oscar Blandi Polish Glossing Creme (at ULTA) to the ends to polish and to smooth away any flyaways around the part.

• Tuck the left side behind the ear and spray Oscar Blandi Lacca Medium Hold Hair Spray (at ULTA) to finish and add more shine.

Ruth Wilson's Amazing Eyes at the 2015 Golden Globes

Ruth Wilson won a Golden Globe for her work in TV series drama “The Affair,” which I have to admit I've never heard of. But, I really loved how her eyes complemented her green Prada dress. Her look was created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Brigitte Reiss-Andersen.

Get the Look:
• Skin is the foundation of any beauty look. Before makeup application, I wiped her skin down with Simple Skincare Micellar Cleansing Water (at Drugstore.com) for a gentle cleanse and boost of hydration, with special attention around the t-zone. Micellar Water is so popular abroad; it’s awesome to have a drugstore version here in the states!

• Next, I massaged Simple Skincare Nourishing 24 HR Day/Night Moisturizer (at Drugstore.com) into her skin to nourish and hydrate – readying skin for makeup application.

• After her skin was prepped, I started out by brushing the illuminating Armani Maestro Eraser Concealer in #3 under the eyes (at Nordstrom), and then applied Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #5 (at Nordstrom) to even out the complexion. I then brushed a Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric blush in #503 (at Nordstrom) onto the apples of the cheek to add warmth.

• To give Ruth a bold eye without having to go too heavy or smoky, I started by adding Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in #7 (at Nordstrom) in emerald to the lash line. I smudged the pencil ever so slightly to give the lashes more definition and to build the shape of the eye.

• Next, I applied a deep green hue of Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in #4 (at Nordstrom) from the lash line up into the crease. A touch of gold provided dimension and made the eyes really pop. I topped the eyes with two coats of mascara (try Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara at Nordstrom).

• To finish the look, I applied Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani lipstick in #502 (at Giorgio Armani), a sheer pink lip color, to complement the eye and dress. This shade provided a pop of color without overpowering the look.

• To complete the look, Stern created wine-stained lips by applying Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Merlot (at LauraMercier.com), topped off with a gold gloss for a luminous sheen.

Jessica Chastain's Long, Flowing Waves at the 2015 Golden Globes

Jessica Chastain has pretty amazing hair. I love how she always makes it a feature of her look, but she doesn't let it overwhelm her! For the 2015 Golden Globes her hair was loose and flowing, it reminds me of a laid-back Veronica Lake. It just looks very pretty and healthy.

Jessica's hair was done by Well Professionals Stylist Renato Campora. It's a great updated Old Hollywood look, the long and loose curls with a side twist.

Get the Look:
• They started with freshly washed hair (Wella Professionals Elements Renewing Shampoo and Daily Renewing Conditioner were used). To help hair hold the style, Wella Professionals Elastic Energy Mousse was applied to damp hair. Hair was then blown dry using a round brush.

• Using a 1.5 inch curling iron, curl only the bottom portion of hair to create voluminous curls. If your hair has a hard time holding curl, consider using a 1" iron instead.

• Apply Wella Professional LuxeOil Light Oil Keratin Protection Spray to the top of the head to smooth any fly-aways.

• Allow hair to cool for 5 minutes then lightly brush through the curls to create a loose look.

• Apply a small amount of Wella Professionals Smooth Brilliance Shine Pomade to fingertips and smooth down the front of the hair for a sleek shiny look.

• Finish the look using Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray.

It isn't hard to see why Channing Tatum fell for his wife, Jenna. She's beautiful! (I've heard she's also very funny and very nice, but this is a beauty blog so I'm only concentrating on the superficial here.)

Her look was created by Celebrity makeup artist, Jake Bailey. He wanted to create a natural, simple but just pretty look to go with the pretty lemon color of her chiffon dress. The look really complements her gown, rather than competing with it.

Jenna Dewan Tatum's Amazing Golden Globes 2015 Makeup

Get the Look:
First Jake prepped Jenna's skin with Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Crème (at Nordstrom or Sephora).

He applied the Pür Minerals Air Perfection CC Cushion Compact Foundation in Medium (at SkinStore) for a flawless finish, allowing a natural glow to come through. He then put the Pür Minerals Chateau Cheeks Cream Blush in Coy (at ULTA) followed by a small amount of NARS Loose Powder in Beach (at NARS or Nordstrom). Bailey also added Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight (at Nordstrom) on the bridge of her nose, cheekbones and brow bones to add depth to her natural glow.

Next, Jake used a plum shadow to make the green in her eyes pop. He used several shades from the Pür Minerals Soul Mattes Eye Shadow Palette (at ULTA) to apply the eggplant shade on the lid and the taupe shade around the edges to create that smokey, sultry look.

“I then used the Pür Minerals Eye Defining Pencil in Onyx (at DermStore) along the lash line to really define her eyes,” says Bailey. He applied the Troy Surratt Brow Pencil (at Barneys) and Anastasia Brow Gel (at Sephora) on her brows and finished with a few coats of the Pür Minerals Big Look Waterproof Mascara (at ULTA) on the lashes.

Lastly, Bailey applied the LaMer Lip Balm (at Nordstrom) as a base to the lips, followed by the Pür Minerals Chateau de Vine Mineral Lipstick in Georgia Peach (at ULTA) and a pop of the Chateau Lip Gloss in Scandalous (at ULTA).

Sienna Miller's Perfect Wavy Bob at the 2015 Golden Globes

Sienna's hair was wavy bob perfection! Just look at it!

Redken/Cutler Stylist Jenny Balding didn't style Sienna's hair, but she knew how to recreate the look. She says, "Sienna's hair is a fantastic version of a short bob – it's perfectly disheveled and textured haircut."

If you're looking for Sienna's style, start with your hair cut into a mid-length bob to allow movement (if it's cut too short it won't have enough versatility).

To get Sienna's perfect waves:
Start by blow drying with volume throughout, using a medium sized curling iron to create a bend from the mid-length to the ends of the hair.

Finish by using Redken fashion waves 07 sea salt spray to create the perfectly disheveled edge. Mist all over whilst running your hands throughout.

Update
I'm already posting updates! After I published this post this morning, I got an email from Suave (yes, Suave!) with info on how the look was really created on Sienna. Sienna's perfect wavy bob was created by Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist Jenny Cho.

According to Jenny, “I wanted to create a beautiful, side-swept, textured look on Sienna to play against her stunning beaded dress and to keep everything fresh and effortless. “

Golden Globes Beauty

Nothing to Disclose

So, I didn't watch the Golden Globes last night. Instead, I watched an old Downton Abbey (I'm rewatching all the old before I'll start the new, we're at the end of season 2). This was definitely more important than the Red Carpet last night. Why? Because my 2 month old loooooves the sound of the British accents. It was a riot to listen to her coo and talk to the people on the tv for a solid 40 minutes!

So, today I'm going through my inbox and checking out how everyone looked on the Red Carpet. And I've decided that for once I'll be sharing my faves and the details that their PR reps sent me. So, watch for updates all day!

NARS at Rag & Bone Spring/Summer 2015: Glowy Makeup You'll Want

I always love seeing what products professional makeup artists use to create that perfect "no makeup" look, and this year Gucci Westman offered a little bit of a twist on that look for the Rag & Bone Spring/Summer 2015 Runway Show. I think the skin looks perfect and glowing (and let's face it, these models are about half my age with access to some amazing beauty pros as part of their job). But really, it was the glowing and somewhat ethereal nature of the eye that I loved.

“This look is effortless, aspirational and chic while still feeling luxurious and cool. The face is feminine and fresh with subtle monochromatic tones complimented by a bitten looking mouth," says Gucci.

I have the information on which products they used to create the looks! Notice that there's a pretty wide range of colors in some instances, this really was to accommodate all of the different skin tones of the models. I groups items together by skin tone use, it should be pretty obvious which ones were used together.

Skin Perfection: The Best No Makeup Look at Naeem Khan Spring/Summer 2015

As usual, I love the fresh faced look created by NARS for a Spring 2015 runway show! This look was created by James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry for the Naeem Khan Spring/Summer 2015 Runway.

James says, "Naeem’s inspiration this season was actress, Lauren Bacall. We liked the idea of this classic, old Hollywood Naeem girl but a bit more 'undone'. Fresh skin, glossy eyes and a stained lip is where we landed."

Personally, I'm a sucker for the fresh skin and the stained lips.

Simple Spanish Inspired Updo: Redken at Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015

Simple Spanish Inspired Updo: Redken at Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015

Yes, it does look a bit Spanish-Flamenco dancer (well, that was the inspiration!), but this updo that Guido, Redken Creative Consultant, created for the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015 Runway was very soft and feminine and I think could easily be adapted for a holiday party, a night out, or some other special occasion. It is special without being too fussy, it really looks just very effortless to me!

“This look is very classically Dolce. It’s very soft, pretty and feminine – how girls want to look," said Guido. "It could look severe, but I’m doing it with my fingers to make it much softer for an overall feeling that’s very rich and luxurious.”

What You'll Need:

Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer
Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow-Dry Lotion
Wind Blown 05 Dry Finishing Spray
U-Pins

Create the Look:

1. Prep hair for blow drying. Mist damp hair with Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer, comb through. Next apply a nickel-sized amount of Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow-Dry Lotion, comb through. Blow dry hair smooth using a round brush.

2. Part hair in the center and spray Wind Blown 05 Dry Finishing Spray for a little added texture.

3. Using fingers, pull hair over the fingers and back into a messy knot. Secure with small U-pins. Leave a few bits of hair sticking out from the bun to achieve a softer look.

4. Finish with another mist of Wind Blown 05 Dry Finishing Spray.

Optional: Add a flower! You'll want to opt for a hardy variety so it lasts for the entire night. A carnation or calla lily would be a great choice (I found this great resource for hardy flowers to wear in your hair). Secure the flower into your hair with bobby pins or consider using a silk flower hair pin instead.
