MAC Feeling Fresh Eye Shadow
MAC Hey Sailor Bronzers: Nude on Board and Soft Sand
Pro Longwear Bronzer: "Combining comfort, flawless sheer-low transparent coverage and long wear, this is bronze with a fully dimensional yet natural finish. "
Bronzing Powder: "A lightly frosted, tinted powder that gives skin sheer, natural colour effects and highlights. Ideal to enhance and strengthen a tan."
Both formulations come in the same compact, which is a navy and white stripe on the outside with a nice sized mirror on the inside. It is definitely a bit heavier duty than other MAC compacts and could easily be carried around with you all day. I didn't really notice a difference between the 2 formulations in terms of pigmentation level or application. Soft Sand (the regular bronzer) does have a touch more fine shimmer (which MAC calls frost), but I think that's the main difference.
Soft Sand: This golden bronze was very similar to Nude on Board but with a touch more golden shimmer.
Either would be a good choice for a summer bronzer.

MAC Hey Sailor Suntints: Swatches and Review
Every year MAC puts out a few Suntints colors, and I'm usually a bit mixed on them. They're often just barely tinted (which means they're great to keep in your pocket and apply while on the run), but I don't like the flavor (this year I taste nothing except a bit of sunscreen) and the sun protection isn't broad spectrum. So, I don't think this would be a good choice for the beach! But, perfectly acceptable for tooling around town running errands.

MAC To The Beach Body Oil: Man Rays and Seaside
Man Rays is a very pretty tan with same color shimmer, though in bright sunlight it will glint different colors a bit, mostly greens, pinks and peaches.

MAC Hey Sailor Nail Polishes: Vestral White and Touch of Red
If only both of the polishes inside were so nice. Touch of Red is definitely the standout. It's a bright red creme that in some lights has a bit of extra pink in it, super pretty! It applied beautifully. I have on 3 light and even coats and the coverage was perfect.
I thought that perhaps Vestral White would be a good layering or nail art white polish. No dice. It is very bright white, and looks just like white out on your nails. (Remember doing that when you were a kid?) Unfortunately, I found that the coverage was pretty spotty and my polish was gloppy even after a bit of thinning out with nail polish thinner. Even with 4 thin coats I didn't have full coverage, and by then it was all so gross on my nail that I didn't even bother taking pictures. So, pass on the Vestral White!

MAC Hey Sailor Highlight Powder: Grab It If You Find It!
This is a bit different than many other highlighting powders that I've had from MAC.

MAC Chanman Shadow Duos: Pretty Colors from those Crazy Mineralize Shadows
Thursday, March 22, 2012I never really know what to make of these mineralize shadows. They're obviously so, so, so insanely pretty in the packaging. But, they can change a bit when applied depending on the blend of colors. That can be good or it can be bad, some of us like a lot of consistency.
Anyways, I am usually drawn to the lighter mineralize shadows, but this time around I was really (really) falling for some of the darker ones (OMG, the purple in Pink Union!). I've been reaching for these pretty often when doing my makeup.

Lippie Love: American Apparel's Lip Gloss
Thursday, March 15, 2012Beauty items at American Apparel typically are a bit of an after thought. You go for new leggings or t-shirts and that hot pink nail polish looks soooo cute. Or that tomato red lip gloss, it looks like a flattering way to incorporate the "tangerine tango" color that people can't stop talking about. I think that these glosses probably deserve to be actually on that shopping list.
This glosses aren't sticky, are a bit translucent so the colors are pretty flattering, and they taste a bit sweet. They do last for a few hours on me, and they would likely last quite a bit longer if I could go more than 10 minutes without need a drink of coffee or water.
Read on to look at a few of the shades.

Trish McEvoy Golden Bronzer
Thursday, October 27, 2011I tend to do most of my brightening up with a MAC beauty powder, since they're so sheer the light pink isn't very obvious. I veer away from most bronzers since they make me look orange or like I forgot to wash my face. For the last week or so I've been in love with this bronzer from Trish McEvoy.
This bronzer is matte, without a sparkle of glitter in sight (thank goodness!) and when applied with a light hand I can't see any of the usual tell tale "I am wearing bronzer" color. Instead, I just look like I slept well. I've been using Trish's #62 Fan Brush to apply, though if you wanted a heavier application I'd go for #37 the Bronzer Brush.

MAC Matchmaster: The Foundation Answer for the Hard to Match?
Thursday, October 06, 2011Recently, MAC released a new line of foundation that promises to be completely different from all of their other foundations. The pigments are different. The idea is that the pigments are encapsulated within little spheres, which helps to reflect light and in theory make the pigments blend more easily with your skin tone. Rather than needing that "perfect match" that we all find so elusive, you should be able to take a foundation that is in the ballpark, put it on, and since it mixes with your own skin tone you'll look fab.
In addition, this foundation has a demi-matte finish with oil reduction capabilities (sounds amazing to this combination skin girl), a medium coverage that is buildable and soft focus powders to help soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles. For real.
Miracle Skin Conceal and Treat
Thursday, September 22, 2011The Miracle Skin line is meant to include your moisturizer, treatment skin care and (some) of your makeup all together in one easy to use product. I haven't tried their moisturizer/foundation/more coverage than a typical tinted moisturizer yet, but I did get to try out the concealer.
In addition to the normal concealer ingredients this product does contain Vitamin K, which will help long term with those under eye circles. As well, White Rose and Chamomille flower are anti-oxidants.
One major thing to note about this concealer: I tried Light-Medium and it was somewhat orange tinted, which makes it great for concealing dark undereye circles as a corrector. But, not so great as the concealer on it's own. I didn't really like the tint.
Really, this concealer should be a 3.5 on the coverage sale.
Consistency: This is a thick and creamy concealer, but has a bit of a mousse-like consistency
Blendability: Easily blended
Buildable coverage: Somewhat
Feeling on skin: Not really lightweight, but I wouldn't call it heavy either
Wear: 10-12 hours
Problems with wear: Caking with a thick single layer or more than one. Use a light hand
Shades Available: Light, Light-Medium and Medium. I tried Light-Medium and it was a bit too dark for me. I'm typically a light girl, so this wasn't too surprising.
